My whirlpool dishwasher stopped. Without notice or hints of a problem, it does not respond to the "on" button. I checked the breaker, this appears okay. No lights, no water, no nothing ~
It's a Quiet Partner III (model #8575637). It's wired into the wall and has a switch on the wall (like a light switch to get power).

Is your dishwasher hard wired into the house power system ... or plugged into a wall outlet under the kitchen sink?
You mentioned you turned off the power ... how? via the circuit breaker or disconnecting it from the wall? If your unit is plugged into an outlet (and you depowered by cutting the breaker) ... I would check the cord and outlet .. it might be as simple as that.
If that is not the problem ... trying a reset.
Below is a generic one for Whirpools which may work on your model
To reset it, you will have to have the door open. It can not be latched. Press "Heated Dry," "Normal," "Heated Dry," "Normal" within three seconds of the first pressed button. Now close the door, this should reset your dishwasher.
Good luck on your troubleshooting!
1. First, unplug the dishwasher power cord or turn the circuit breaker off for 30 seconds.
2. Then, plug the dishwasher power cord into the wall outlet or turn the breaker back on and wait 30 seconds.
3. After that, press the Pause / Cancel / Stop button twice to clear the display.
4. Finally, start a short cycle, to check operation of the dishwasher, by selecting a cycle and pressing and holding the start button until the dishwasher starts.
If it doesn't run and you have no indicator lights, check the circuit breaker for that outlet. If it is ok, test the output voltage at the plug-in for the machine (115Vac). If it is "live" then check inside the control panel (turn off the breaker first) for a fuse that appears blown. If no fuse problem, CAREFULLY (with breaker back on) see if the main switch is getting power. If it is getting power, the control board is shot...replace it!
did you try cutting the power at the household breaker box and rebooting it. try the manufacturer customer service number, they have technicians you can ask sometimes if you're nice.
Whirlpool dishwasher reset sequence is usually to hit the heat dry then normal then heat dry then normal buttons within 5 seconds and it usually resets.
you need to check the power only:
1- check the power come to the wall right ,if not
get elecricity man to bring it to plug in the wall
2- check the cord of m/c if it has fuse check it
and replace with same values ampers,....so on
3- if problem still check electricity reach at end of cord if not ,chang cord
4- if you still have problem inform us
>be ware of electricale chock it is your your life> thanks from me m abba
My dishwasher just quit mid cycle. (still has water in it) It is a whirlpool partner 1. I checked the breaker and it wasn't tripped... but i reset it anyways. When I tried the dishwasher again it worked for a second and turned off. I have done reading about the thermo fuse but can't find it. Not sure how big of a problem this is.
Dishwasher is 5 years old.
