I would assume that you have figured this out by now but in case you haven't. Locate the filter cover on the top of the engine, remove the cover then remove the filter from the engine.

See the two plastic screws to the right of the engine? Unscrew those two and the air filter will be under that cover.

Just gas. It is a 4 cycle engine. I hope this helps.

The pony tiller with a Briggs and Stratton engine only uses gas do NOT mix oil with the gas.

Gas in the oil usually means the carburetor float is to high or the float is sticking. Hope this is of some help. donnyb60
