SOURCE: toggle lever will not stay on "rick cooking" option

well your rice cooker needs to be replaced.. if you still want to use it, then have it fixed by a technician coz it needs electrical expertise to handle the wirings inside it..

SOURCE: I have Tiger rice cooker,

The sensor in the base of the unit has failed, this is a common event. Unfortunately I doubt if one will be able to source spare parts for this unit.

The most cost effective way to get this unit attended to is to contact Tiger direct, a local or head office, and then ask for a referral to an authorised servicing center. With the information in hand, then contact that agent, and ask for a "Quote" before proceeding with any repair, this way you can at least make an informed decision as to repair or replace.

The white rice turns brown and it smells after only 2 or 3 days.

Nothing. Cooked rice should be immediately refrigerated if not used and used within a couple of days, to do otherwise can be fatal.

Your cooked rice is discolouring due to either bacterial or fungal growth, either due to remaining spores in the cooker between each load, or just due to environmental effects. So far, you've been extremely lucky not to suffer very severe food poisoning.

Good morning, I bought the Tiger rice cooker(AP016 - JNP-1800 - 10 Cup - 1.8 liter ) in Oct 2009 and yesterday(18/03/2010) when I was cooking rice as normal and once it's done and when I open the cover,...

If it was purchased in 2009 and had a one year warranty, this is now 2017--well past the warranty expiration. You might check if the unit will work in another outlet, otherwise, just bite the bullet and purchase a new one.

I have the measuring cup for the tiger 10 cup rice cooker, but i don't know the rice to water ratio

basically, it depends on the rice but the standard is 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water.

Cooking with fallen rice stuck in heatingpan

No. This can cause a fire. Place the cooker in the freezer to freeze the rice in the bottom. The frozen rice will expand and it will be easier to clean up and breakoff the old rice. Once clean you can cook more rice.
