It may be similar to the problem I had on wireless home phone with answering machine not taking
messages when had the answering machine set to 12 rings before
answering. Found the sim card (my wireless system) auto response would
answer first. Fixed it by reducing time to 6 rings and answering
machine now comes on first.
Hi you need to go into settings then call settings then call diverts and then turn them all off and only switch the ones on you want such as when phone is off this will then only go to answer when the phone is off or if you never use the answer phone just leave them all off and it will keep ringing till you answer it
let me know if you need further assistance ok
plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks
It sounds to me like the phone line coming into your home has a short on it so when someone calls your phone it asts as you have answered it. Report the line trouble to your local phone provider as "RNA" (ring no answer) normal phone trouble ticket terms.
Make sure your phone service provider is compatible with your home phone. If you contact them they can usually provide you with a list of incompatible phones. Next call your home # see how many rings before your answering machine picks up. Check to make sure message is clear and audible. :Leave yourself a message. Note the time it takes for your message to become retrievable. If there is a signicant delay there might be a equipment malfunction and you should contact phone manufacturer.
Try looking underneath the console of the answering machine. You must turn the answerer on on most machines and underneath there may be a switch to determine how many rings before it picks up as well.
I had the same problem with my phone - ring it from another phone and leave yourself a message, then dial the voicemail, listen to the message, delete it and that clears it. It worked for me.
