I have to stand up close and even squint to see the numbers displayed. I don't know if this is just how this microwave is or if there is a defect. Any thoughts? Oh and it is a brand new microwave-just installed and not ever been used.
I regularly repair these and details are here.
If you have other questions, it's best to follow up with me directly.

Microwave Oven Control Panel Repair Nationwide
"Recycling by repairing since 1982"
SOURCE: Sparking / Popping Microwave
GE had a rash of "underperforming" magnetrons on these units. They replace the magnetron, stirrer and high-voltage diode at no charge for parts as long as a GE-authorized service center does the work. Sometimes the unit gets run too long in a failing state and the waveguide and chassis of the oven get damaged. To see if yours is covered, see this bulletin: http://www.microwavedisplay.com/ge_mw_mag_kit_bulletin.pdf Otherwise, you need to contact GE Customer Relations at 1-800-386-1215 as soon as possible and tell them your problem and they will put you in touhc with a local authorized servicer.

SOURCE: My microwave readout say "SE"/
This is indicating a bad keypad. There is a quick reset solution and that is to unplug the unit for a while and plug it back in. But if this is brand new it needs to go back to the dealer you purchased it from. One quick note, do not ever use a liquid cleaner on the touch pad these can leach into the electronics and kill them. The following is the service note from Samsung on this issue.
For all error indications, including the SE or 5E error, try unplugging the microwave from the outlet for at least ten minutes and then plug it back in. If the error persists, the microwave may require service. Please use our ASC Locater to find your nearest Authorzied Service Center."
If this was helpful a vote on the thumbs up would be greatly appreciated.
SOURCE: Where is the fuse on my microwave Electrolux PLMV169DCD located?
We have three service manuals covering the PLMV169 series, which you can download free:
http://www.microwavedisplay.com/plmv169dcc_sm.pdf
http://www.microwavedisplay.com/glmv169_plmv169_sm.pdf
http://www.microwavedisplay.com/glmv169_plmv169_late_prod_sm.pdf
They're all pretty similar.
You can usually find parts from the Pros here.
If not, contact Electrolux at the phone number on the front of the service manual.
It may be the C/T fuse (thermal fuse located above the magnetron) or the oven cavity thermal cutout, located on the top of the cavity.
Accessing these two parts for testing and possible replacement will require you to remove the oven from the wall.
If
so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have
two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.
You can
download Electrolux / Frigidaire owner's manuals and installation
instructions here.
It may also be that there was a power surge which damaged the control circuit board, activating the built-in surge protection.
This is not resettable. The circuit board has to be repaired. We do that for $39.95, details here.
