When I turn on my Toshiba laptop the keyboard will not light up and the screen will not come on? What could be the problem?

Hi

have you pressed any of the top keys by mistake as one of them will i believe turn off the monitor/screen

maybe have a look at your top keys and find one that looks like a blank screen and try pressing it or pressing it with the fn key as well

also you could try to start up in safe mode which is probably in the f8 option at start up
and try to do a system restore

or go to device manager
scroll down to find the display and un install it
then restart and hopefully all will be good

or press f8 on start up and try to choose last good know configuration and see if that does anything for you

if you still have a problem please come back to us telling us what operating system your are running

many thanks

Toshiba Equium A300D - 13X laptop black screen.

Hi. try accessing the Start-up BIOS features by pressing F2 or Delete key when you see the Toshiba logo. Check for the Tab that will give you the control for the brightness/contrast of the screen. If that doesn't do anything then most probably the backlight (LED or CFL) must have been busted. and needs replacement.

Toshiba Satellite A215-S7407 ram upgrade

Try to disconnect the new ram you just bought one at the time to see which one is defective. Also, 32 bit operating systems won't detect 4 Gb or ram, but they will show 3 Gb (even though they will use all 4 Gb). To resolve this issue, make sure that if you are using windows Vista to download the latest service pack 1.

TOSHIBA SATELLITE LAPTOP a300d-14O TURNS ITSELF ON AGAIN AFTER SHUT DOWN WHEN LID IS CLOSED

Your power management in Windows is corrupted. I would do a system restore to an earlier date.
1.
Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore.
2.
On the Welcome screen, click Restore my computer to an earlier time, and then click Next.
3.
On the Select a Restore Point page, select the date from the calendar that shows the point you'd like to restore to, as shown in Figure 2, and then click Next.

4.
On the Confirm Restore Point Selection page, verify that the correct restore point is chosen, and then close any open programs.
5.
Click Next if you are ready to proceed or click Back to change the restore point.
6.
The computer will shut down automatically and reboot. On reboot, you'll see the Restoration Complete page, and then click OK.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
