SOURCE: MULTIMEDIA PROJECTOR

I have a Sanyo XU35. Mine was starting up and showed a picture for about 15 - 30 seconds then shutting down. My lamp warning light was not coming on. When I put it in for repairs it turned out to be the lamp that needed replacing. The technician said it is not uncomman for the lamp to be going and the lamp warning light not to come on. I got my lamp on e-bay from ping_ngo for a great price.

SOURCE: Sanyo PLC - Z5 Lamp Replacement Light

Just had the same problem. Based on other suggestions on here I tried resetting the overheat switch, and IT WORKED!

So, you have to pull the 6 screws (one of them is shorter than the rest, remember where it goes) that hold the top on the projector. 3 are on the back, 3 on the bottom - look for the arrows next to the screws.

Put the projector on it's feet, and pull off the top. The button wires will still be connected, so just hold onto the top and find the black circle/shaft above where the lamp is. The shaft has white paint on the top/tip of it. Push it down with a light amount of force. You should hear/feel it click.

Put top back on, put screws in, and you should be good to go.

Don't forget to reset the lamp replacement counter in the menus.

Sanyo plc-xt10a will not power up. ready light is not on. power to unit is good.

First, check the lamp/lamp door--the door has a safety interlock that prevents power from getting to the projector. Make sure the power *is* getting to the unit by using a known-good power cord. Also, check the 3 air filters. If one or more was clogged with dust, the unit might have had a thermal sensor trip. There is also an internal fuse on the power supply which may have blown. When was the last time the projector worked correctly? Have there ever been any power problems related to that unit before? If the above checks yield no success, the projector will have to be repaired at a service facility. Hope I was of some help---Rick

Lamp goes out after 10-15 seconds

Recently had a similar issue.
When I took the lamp out (Let it cool for awhile first), there was dust all over one side preventing air from the fans from cooling the lamp, so it shut itself off after getting too hot.

Sanyo PLC-XF46N projector shuts down before powering up completely

The Fix Ya rep suggested that I try the "Reset" button located next to the Audio out on the side of the projector; this solution proved to be the fix I needed. I was able to get the lamps to warm up and get into the menu to cut back the bulbs/power consumption on start-up, allowing the projector to function for a problem-free 4 hour period Unfortunately, I had the same issue this morning, but the same fix worked again.

Sounds like a simple problem to fix but don't ask here unless you plan on signing up...take your projector to a "real" professional who'll actually speak to you.
