A miss under load on a Focus is usually a bad or failing coil on one or more of the plugs. Also how old are the spark plugs?

If the misfire is bad enough it will show a code identifying the cylinder or cylinders misfiring. The coils are a weak spot and fail.
If you are keeping it,I would suggest new plugs and coils on all cylinders with boots and the miss should be gone for years.Get a set of coils with boots on ebay for $ savings.

I recently bought a 1992 model toyota camry SV21 and 3S-FE engine, it starts well exept that when you try to accelerate, the engine will miss and would like to stall, so just to bring it home I rev it high...

the fuel must be adjusted ,it loses the torque, when press the accelerator ,the engine need more torque when moving the car on 1st gear, compare on the motorway, check for the fuel man ,this will affect the engine on long period

Accelerates on own

I would have them check to see if a minor clutch adjustment may remove the 1-2 grate. You might ask it the is a shift linkage lubricant to smooth out the shift as well.

Missing, loss of power, etc.

sounds from afar like a problem i had after installing after market spark plug cables on a diff. car. make sure you have factory-quality/ even mits. brand cables. (right parts vs. after mkt.?- no contest.)

Slow acceleration from stop and when driving (trying to pass)

I have the same car. So far no problems with the Transmision. I had the Trans oil change out every 60 K Sure sounds like you need to get the Transmision checked. Is the fault light on. I have invested ina fault code reader sure is worth it.
Good luck.  Vilmos

Surging during acceleration

If it always, under acceleration, reguardles of what gear you are in, it is must likely, your ignition wires. If it's while coasting, past 45, vehicle in fourth gear, then it would be an isue with your trans. i.e. trans coming in and out of fourth gear or a torck converter clutch problem. Should have codes. If so what are they?

Sounds like a plugged catylic convertor. You might check with a GM dealer to make sure if it falls in the Special Policy coverage to get it replaced under warrenty, it has to have less than 120,000 miles on it though.
