As long as someone hasn't been poking around in the phone system, this is a phone company issue. I have seen this many times and it has always been a carrier issue. Typically with PRI's or integrated access analog lines.
They're not mine or FixYa's phones, they are yours.
Are you hearing dial tone before you ring out? When a phone doesn't dial or ring, it's the first sign that it's not connected to a working phone line. Try a regular phone in the same jack first.
If you use Dsl as a internet provider make sure you have the filters on each phone. If you use cablevision and have a wireless connection make sure you chage the phone to a 5.2ghz because you might have the wireless router with the same ghz causing a coflict. This will also create loss. of internet connections then you use the phone
The ringing you hear when you dial your phone number is not actually your phone ringing but a machine at the phone company designed to give you something to listen to while they connect your call. I would say that your phone number is working, just not at your house. You need to call repair to trace your phone line and get it connected properly. Good luck
is the ringer on the base or phone on? check that first.if that's ok, then plug a regular corded phone into the phone jack and see if there is dial tone.if there isn't any, try other jacks in the house. if still not working, call your phone company.
