I cant receive or send emails or BB Instant Messages on my BB

Hi Folks,
I have a BB Bold, which I have been unable to send/receive emails or send/receive IM's for a couple of days running now.
I am able to send/receive text messages and my account is in order with my service provider.

I am currently roaming abroad, and have had no problems until now. Too expensive to contact T-mobile UK for phone support from here, and need my emails to ensure my business doesnt suffer..and IM's to keep in touch with my family in real time!

I notice that there is no "GPRS" showing at all....and I suspect this is the cause....though I may of course be wrong.

Any ideas on how I can fix this will be REALLY saving a life! :-)

    Thanks for your reply mate.

    I have done the Hard reset a couple of times, but no joy.

    I was able to send/receive emails until a couple of days ago when this problem started.

    I do not have EDGE or GPRS showing. All i have showing is "3G"

    Is there a way to manually activate GPRS?

    I changed to 2G and now I get small letter "edge", but still no emails delivering/sending

    I have run the diagnostics, pls see results below:

There is a way to select 2G onlky connection mode, go the wireless connections icon in your menu, then select the 3G connection. From there you can select connection mode as 2G, 3G etc. Try 2G only and see if that helps.

Do you have a corporate blackberry server or are you with a phone company?

    please run the following diagnostic tool;

    1. Main menu
    2. options
    3. mobile network options
    4. press blackberry menu button
    5. diagnostic test
    6. press blackberry button
    7. run

    Please post the results (excluding any sensitive information like your device PIN)

    If the above two items did not help, then try re-sending your service books. Visi the following link http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do...



    If you have a corporare Blackberry server, your IT guys will need to re-send service books to your account.

    Looks like the network is not allowing Blackberry traffic to your phone. Can you browse the internet on the phone?

It needs to say "GPRS" or "EDGE" in the top right hand corner in captial letters. If there is lower case letters, this indicates the phone is having an issue with the data connection.

Have you been able to send/receive email whilst in the country you are in now?

Most obvious things first, remove the battery, then re-insert and reboot. This will reboot the phone and create a new connection to the Blackberry server. Let me know how that goes.

I am unable to receive pictures, music from other mobile phone to my BB Bold 9700 through Bluetooth. Both devices are pairing but BB is not receiving sending is not a problem.

you should select the option "receive via bluetooth". in the media menu, press the menu button (the bb symbol) then select receive via bluetooth, then send the file. you will then be able to receive files from other phones.

My boss wants me to give him short concise instructions about how to open Yahoo Messenger on his Blackberry Bold and how to send and receive messages using yahoo messenger on his blackberry bold.

For that download yahoo mesanger from blackberry browser and install in blackberry then you can sing in yahoo messenger with black berry When you install yahoo in bb all settings are automatically done.

sounds like your settings arent tuned correctly call your service provider and explain whats going on and they will send you an update to auto adjust all your settings and youll be good to go

Blackberry bold sms configuration

You may be missing the service book for SMS. Logon to the BIS, it is a website of your carrier where you set up your BB email. There you can resend all the service books.
If you have never been there, call the carrier to have them do it for you.

BB bold 9000, in box problems

Hi, sounds like your Email is dumping messages to make room for more. Go into your email account settings and see how much Memory Space is available for Messages. If the FREE/Available space is close to USED space then you will need to get a memory card so that you can save messages onto that, Freeing up Space for NEW Messages.
