The connection with both DC and car charger is intermittent on my coby TF-DVD7051D-P portable DVD player

The power socket on the DVD player has a faulty solder connection. This connector need to be re-soldered to the circuit to fix this problem.

In order to charge the battery you must plug in the power supply AND then turn the off/on switch to OFF. You should see the blue light in front change to red. and you are now charging... Tadah

My portable dvd player will not maintain a charge. It will play while plugged up but the battery is not keeping the charge. It is the GPX PD808B model.

If you are fast, you can get a slightly used GPX PD808B car charger and battery on eBay for $20.
