It keeps jamming in duplex unit area. I take jammed paper out and hit "ok" and it jams again. I can't print at all. Why would it keep jamming like this?

Is there too much paper? too little? when did you do a "print head alignment" Print head cleaning.
You says jamming but not how many pages? Is your printer near humidifier
If so that is your sticky source

Dust and dirt are usually the main causes. Using compressed air, gently blow out along the underside and inside of your printer. Please be very careful not to hit the print head as they are very easily damaged and Lexmark isn't making any new ones any longer. Sometimes, little pieces of paper can get in there as well. If you use the 'Clean heads" option on your printer, you will use an exorbident amount of ink! I was amazed my first few times (I couldn't believe it so, naturally, I had to check it again!).
