The circuit board has a very small fuse that could have blown. Your dealer will need to look at it. The older Pfaff computerized models like the 1471, 1473 and 1475 had a small fuse on the circuit board that could be replaced for considerably less than replacing the entire circuit board but I'm not sure if this is the case with the 7550.

When my wife presses the foot pedal, nothing happens, except that the computer display says "OL". Does that mean that the foot pedal needs to be replaced?

What is the machine make and model?

OL may stand for overload and depending on the make and model it may be due to a number of different causes.

Replaced the battery but foot pedal doesnt work

The foot control has nothing to do with the battery. You need to take your machine and foot control to a Pfaff service center.

Foot pedal doesn't work

well if the foot pedal isn't working, you can either replace it with a new one or take the machine to a sewing machine repair shop & let them check the foot pedal & see if it's fixable

My machine will not run. I took the pedal into a place, they said it did not work, I got a new one and that still did not work. If I wiggle the prong on the pedal it will light it up, but intermittantly....

Taking the pedal in alone didn't let them diagnose the whole problem and they were wrong to try. You needed to take the whole machine in. The prong on the peddle AND the prong on the machine sound like they both got messed up.

I hate to say this, but I'd take the machine in, to another place if there is one, along with the foot pedal. Tell them exactly what is happening and what you've already done. The connection sounds like it's bad at the machine, as well. That's just from a purely electrical repair standpoint and doesn't take a sewing machine repair person to diagnose. But a sewing machine repair person may be needed to deal with the specific wiring in this type of electronic/computerized machine to properly wire everything back to the circuit board(s) once the connector is replaced.

What is err code F04

It most likely is your foot pedal. Unplug your foot pedal and start the machine without it. If it works properly without the foot pedal plugged in then your foot pedal needs repaired or replaced. This worked for us with the NX400 machine and I am sure the NX450 is closely similar. Don't bother to buy a Manual if you didn't already get one with the machine. A Service manual and parts manual is best; But just so you know they don't show the error codes unless you are a qualified and authorized repair person for the machines. I got my info from the repair man where my wife buys and repairs her machines. I am an electronic technician and mechanic so I understand how this system works. I will be repairing my wife's machines from now on.
