Need to Press Num lock key. this key will be on the right side of the keyboard. It can be on a key which has 2 options aswell. Try looking for it. Press that key and check the light on the system which says number 9 or says Num Lock. The light should be OFF.

A few days ago when I was on the the laptop anytime I pressed the letters mjkluio , numbers would appear instead. I tried to press the num lock button and it made no difference. Nothing would fix it so I...

The Function keys up top will not do anything when not in a program that has them set.

The num lock key on most laptops does not itself work: it must be pressed in conjunction with another key. This is normally the "FN" key at the lower left.

Please try pressing the "FN" key while you press the "num lock" key and see if this now works.

I have a Compaq Presario CQ60 laptop and was told that I had my scroll lock activated because the numbers on my number pad only half work. The 0, ., 4, 5, 6, /, *, - all work. The 1, 2, 3, enter, 7, 8,...

Find 'fn' key (this is short for function) then find 'num lock' key in your case it must be another key with and extra label with the same font color as 'fn', this means this key behaves differently when pressed with 'fn'. When you have located both key press fn+num lock a led indicating that numeric lock is activated should go off and you're done.

Laptop keyboard is not working correctly

Accoring to the problem you have mentioned i am sure the keys are not connected properly. The tab key is connected on the Caps lock key. Moreover make sure you press the fn key to check for any changes as it is the key which helps you toggle in Laptop

Keypad

You're kind of vague on your problem. If it's the smaller blue numbers for the calculator, you will need to use the function (fn) key. Hold the fn key and press the key the reads number lock (num lock), this should return the keys back to letters. You can find more info on the fn key and numbers lock under help in the start menu. If this isn't your problem, be more specific, and I'll be more than happy to help.
