My toshiba satellite l300 laptop wont connect to my wireless device this is wot its saying is wrong wot does this mean and how do i fix it atheros ar5007eg pci/ven_168c&dev_001c&su code 43 thats wot it is...
The Atheros AR5007EG is a wireless adapter card, that plugs into your Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 laptop. The Code 43 means Windows doesn't recognize it anymore. I suggest it's either a Driver problem, or the wireless adapter card itself is bad.
This is Toshiba Support. On this page you will see the following headings,
Click on Laptops
Click on Satellite Pro
Using the side bar, click on the down arrow, and scroll the models down. You need to click on the exact model, of L300 you have.
As you can see, there are many. Look on the bottom of your laptop, and you will find the exact model number. I suggest you write it down. Then match it up to one of those model numbers.
When you have matched it up, click on it. Then go to the right, and click on GO, in Red.
Since I do not know your exact model number, I'm going to choose -> L300-EZ1004V <- (First L300 in the list), for an example,
(You Must have the exact model number. You need THE drivers for YOUR laptop)
This takes me to the main page for support, for the Toshiba Satellite Pro L300-EZ1004V
You will see the Support Bullitens for this laptop, and the Support Bulliten tab.
Click on the -> Downloads tab.
The above page is what I get. I'm on Page 3. If this link doesn't take you to Page 3, then go to the bottom, and click on 3, or click on ->
Next, until you are on Page 3.
On Page 3 you will see ->
Atheros Wireless LAN Driver for Windows XP (v126.96.36.199;04/07/2008;5M)
For the Atheros Wireless LAN driver, for THIS laptop, that's what I would click on. Then I would click on Save. If you don't have your downloads saved to your My Documents folder, it will go straight to your desktop screen. This is for whatever computer you are using to download this driver file.
You then burn this file to a CD disk. This disk is installed into your Satellite Pro L300 laptop. When you save it, try to save it to your My Documents folder. Then go to Start>My Documents, and double-click on this file. It may be a zip file. If so, the Extraction Wizard will come up, and you go to the top left, and click on ->
Extract All Files.
Then click on Ok, and in the next window click on -> Next.
Look for a file that states -> Setup, or a file that ends in -> .exe
Double-click on that file. If you get a Microsoft warning window, ignore it. Click on Run, and Run again.
NOW remember! The above IS JUST AN EXAMPLE!
You need to find YOUR exact model number, and go through the example shown above.
