You need to make sure your note pad is not too (thick) and also
that it is the correct size of paper and not too small,(tip) sometimes small sheet can be attached to full size sheet to enable printer to print.

016-799 Wrong combination of print parameters, like selecting to print on custom size paper and setting [Auto] for [Paper Source] on the printer driver and [Auto] for [Paper Size] in trays 1 to 4 on the control panel.
Check the print parameters.What we did is match the documents page size and paper type to the printers (A4) then we could print.

First of all check the error.what error is appearing on the display.if it is about the paper size error then check the paper size in the tray. then adjust the paper size from your computer where you installed the driver, adjust the paper size from printing preferences by right clicking on the printer icon.then in paper size tab you can adjust the paper size. paper size must be the same as in the tray.

Paper mismatch errors occur because the printer scans the width of the envelope before printing. If the paper size setting in the printer driver does not match the paper actually loaded in the printer, the printer reports a 'Paper size error'.
Try to adjust the printer and envolopee settings..

If this is a Xerox fax machine, that specific error code states:

An invalid print parameter combination was set. Check the print data. For example, a custom size was specified, and [Paper Supply] was set to [Auto]. In this case, select the bypass tray.

From the Service Manual:
*Service call
980:Error

*Error by media
clinging to the fuser

*Media has clung to the fuser.

*Power OFF
Replace the fuser unit.

Suggestion -
Before you replace the fuser, take it out and check for a piece of stuck label, paper, etc. You can spin the fuser roller by turning the gear on the side.
