Sounds like either the hose or the inlet down by the brush roll is clogged.

I had the same issue after using it daily for over a year. I checked everything and found no clog. I brought it to a vacuum cleaner repair center and they found a clog in the motor. It cost me $25 and was well worth it. I love this vacuum

I have a bissel proheat 2x health home shampooer. It is less than 1 year old and has benn used 3 time andd the brushes will not turn. Is there a reset button, I am overlooking?

If you haven't been cleaning the filters after each use now is the time to get that done. Turn the Flow Indicator Cap counter-clockwise and remove it. Lift the rotor out and under it is the filter. Clean and reinstall in the reverse order. Now under the Water Tank Cap is another filter that looks like a screen. Remove it and clean and replace. Now try your machine. If that didn't do it call Bissell Consumer Care at 1-800-237-7691

Hi Susan. Cleaning the machine is easy. You'll need to remove, empty the dirt container, rinse thoroughly. Also, remove and rinse the foam filter.

May not be your exact model but should be similar.

The Bissel vacuums include an internal thermal protector to protect it from overheating. When the thermal protector activates, the cleaner will stop running. Should this happen proceed as follows:

1. Turn the cleaner OFF and unplug from electrical outlet.

2. Check the Pre-Motor Filter and Post-Motor Filter for dirt accumulation.

3. Remove any clogs.

4. When the vacuum is unplugged and motor cools for approximately 30 minutes, the thermal protector should automatically resets and cleaning may continue.

5. If the thermal protector continues to activate after following the above steps, your cleaner may need servicing. Call Bissell Customer Service:

How do you change the belt on a bissell 5770

The Bissell 5770/Healthy Home vacuum is actually fairly easy to change the belt on. The main thing you will need is a T20 screwdriver with at least a 4 inch shaft and a Phillips-head screwdriver. Four of the six T20 screws on the bottom plate are easy to locate, the last two are set deeper into the vacuum near the wheels. Once you have taken all six T20 screws out you will have to release the lock preventing the vacuum from tilting back so you can easily remove the top plate and gain access to the brush assembly. With the top plate off you will notice four Phillips-head screws holding a cover plate over the brush, simply remove them and you have full access to the belt.
