Take the hand-guards off and the date of manufacture will be on the barrel.
This is actually the barrel manufacture, but at Colt this is usually within a very short period of time. The date is offered as month and year.

If you have the original box and wrapper, look on the cellophane wrapper - the manufacture date is usually stamped on it

Or call Colt and ask them. With serial number they will give you month/year

Winchester model 70s in 1964 started with sn 700, one has been fired but need to 36699. 06, 12 serial number 1 - 20 guage for models which have a 5 digit serial number can anyone tell me what year. (Page 13 of the manual) and try those steps.

If you still cannot get the slide back on, I suggest you take your hand gun to a local gunsmith for repair.

Note: On page 4 of the instruction manual there is a clear statement:

The year of manufacture for serial number 714466 is 1914.

The Model 721 and Model 722 along with the later Model 725 variant are bolt-action sporting rifles manufactured by Remington Arms from 1948 until 1961. The 721/722 replaced the short lived Model 720.

You have two choices -

Consult with Walther Customer Service, or look at the Blue Book of Firearms Values at a local dealer. You will get better detailed information from Walther.

On the FAQs page, scroll down to #8, "What year was my Winchester manufactured? Click or tap on that link.

You will be taken to a web page with the heading:
Winchester Firearms Manufacturing Dates by Serial Number and Year; 1866 through the early 1990s.

Scroll down that page until you see an image with typed columns. Click or tap on that.

You will then be taken to a PDF (Adobe Acrobat Reader - free software) document which you can search through to find the year your firearm was manufactured.

On the first page of the PDF document, you will find toll free phone numbers you can choose to call for additional information.

The lists for the Model 94 (1894) begin on page 9 of the PDF document.
