The optical pickup (lens and laser) is dirty and needs cleaning. you can buy a **** cleaner and use it regularly, but if you need it too often, you'll want to take it apart to clean it.
It could also be the little motor that spins up the disc and then the laser moves around to read the data.. ( or worst case it could be both).. i took the back off mine tonight and noticed it not spinning after giving it a nude a few times it played cds for about 3 hours then back to the "no Disc" error on every disk used or new...

All you can do is get a lens cleaner and hope that clears it up, otherwise you are looking at what might be an expensive replacement of the CD/lens/laser unit.
