Driving directions, using "Susan" the computerized US Female Voice, suddenly stopped. No voice or sound on any function or any voice, now.
Can anyone advise.

You can turn on (or off) the voice guidance ... to announce the driving instructions.
Make sure you select (in your Speaker Preferences) ... the internal speaker ... your Sound is turned ON, your Volume Slider turn up (high), and select (a Voice Preference) as a computer voice... and select the ENABLE Voice option.
In Speech Preference, select the situations which you want instructions/directions/warnings to be read out loud.
You need to use a "Computer" Voice I believe Susan is the female option and Richard is the male option. Only the computer voices can read street names.
To get your TomTom to speak street names, you will need to change the voice from a recorded voice to a computer voice. This can be done by:
Connect your TomTom to your computer
When the TomTom asks do you want to connect to the computer, choose Yes
Open the TomTom Home application
Click on the 'Add Traffic, Voices, Safety Cameras, etc.' button
Click on the 'Voices' button
Click on the 'Computer Voices' button
You can now select a voice to install on the device.
Once you have installed a voice, change it by
Disconnect the TomTom from your computer
Turn on the TomTom
Touch the screen to bring up the menu
Touch 'Change Preferences'
Touch 'Voice Preferences'
Touch 'Change Voice'
Use the Left / Right arrows to navigate to the voice you just installed (Look for the word 'computer' in the upper right corner by the male/female option)
Do you have the sound on?
I do not have this one, but the menus are probably similar. Go to change preferences (blue wrench) and make sure the sound is on. Also then select the voice you want (by scrolling further inthe preference menu to the 'change voice' icon (the lips).

It will only tell you the names of the streets if you use the COMPUTER voice. The other voices will not announce street names. So go to your voice selection and pick the computer voice...either male or female.
Put your mouth over the speaker & blow gently, if the diapgragm in the speaker is faulty (probably) this may lodge it back into position. Try it, nothing to loose.
