Question about Miele Dishwashers

Miele Dishwasher stuck in drain mode, lights don't work, makes rattling sound from door. Model: G 2243 SCU

Dishwasher stuck in draining mode. Disconnecting power or leaving on for an extended time doesn't work. EDIT: I've removed the bottom panel of the dishwasher - there is no leak. Also when closing the door completely, there solenoid inside the door rattles continuously. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Stuck in drain cycle

Hello Vicki. If the drain pump sounds like it is running and will not shut off, you are on "flood mode" There is standing water in the bas pan of the dishwasher. sometimes water can get down there due to an overfill, or not draining completely between cycles. You can either wait for 2 or 3 days and the water will evaporate and should run normally. You can remove the bottom access panels and either vacuum out of dry the water (REMOVE POWER FIRST !) . If it does not clear on its own or if removing the water manually does not work, then the float switch will need to be replaced that activates the flood mode. There is a small possibility you have a bad control .

How to repair or fix a Dishwasher if it doesn't drain

Dishwasher Doesn’t Drain Following a cycle, a small pool of clean water inside the tub is normal. An excessive amount of water means the pump isn’t pumping water out properly, the drain hose isn’t carrying it to the drain pipe, or the house’s drain lines are backed up.
If dirty water spews from the air gap, the drain line is kinked or clogged. (If you’ve recently installed a garbage disposer, be sure the knockout plug for the dishwasher was removed when the connection was made; see your disposer instructions.)
1) Remove the cover from the air gap at the top of the sink (usually a short chrome domed cylinder that sits at the back of the sink), and, using a stiff wire, clean it out. Also check the entire length of the drain hose for kinks or blockages, especially at the drain connection to the disposer or drain line.
2) Once the dishwasher is cool, shut off the power to it, and—if your dishwasher is made to allow this—remove the strainer, located under the bottom spray arm at the base of the cabinet (see illustration). Unscrew the hubcap, lift the spray arm off, and remove any clips that hold the strainer to get it out. Scrub it clean with a brush, then replace it.
3) Determine whether the sink trap or house drain line is clogged.
4) If the dishwasher still doesn’t drain properly, the drain hose may be clogged or the drain valve may need replacement. You can check the drain hose for obstructions, but this sometimes involves pulling the dishwasher out from under your counter to access the hose, disconnecting the hose at both ends, and flushing it out with a faucet or garden hose or replacing it with a new hose.

DISHWASHER IS NOT DRAINING COMPLETELY, LEAVING ABOUT 2 IN OF WATER

Hi
Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

The dishwasher does not drain-- it leaves about 1-2" of water in the bottom after running a cycle

Kitchenaid kud101tj "cancel drain" light and "Rinse Only" lights are falhing and DW won't start???

Don't know if this will help, but when I had problems with my control panel (lights blinked and nothing worked) I fixed it by disconnecting the power completly from the dishwasher at the fuse box. Leave it off 10 or 15 minutes and then repower. That reset mine and it worked again...has happened several times and each time I could fix it by cutting the power. If that doesn't work, you may need a new control panel.

Dishwasher: BOSCH SHE43 - pump keeps draining

Your dishwasher is stuck in flood mode. Bosch dishwashers are built with flood switches located in the bottom base pan of the dishwasher. The flood switch is connected to a rod that activates a small interlock switch. When water enters the base pan on a Bosch dishwasher, a Styrofoam puck lifts the rod, activating the flood switch.

When the flood switch is activated, the dishwasher will go into a no-fill, only-drain mode. The drain motor may also run with the door open to the unit. This is definitely a sign there is water in the base pan. This can be caused by the drain being clogged. There are two ways to fix:

1. You can uninstall the dishwasher and tip it forward to about a 45 degree angle to drain the water out of the base pan. (This is probably why Ian Bint's solution fixed the problem.) Be sure to put a towel under the dishwasher first so that the water is soaked up in the towel instead of going all over the floor. Once you've drained all the water out of the base pan, reinstall the dishwasher and begin a cycle. If it fills and runs, you are good to go.

2. You can also unplug the unit, then remove the kick panel at the bottom in the front. (It's attached with two screws.) Then get some old washcloths or small towels and reach into the base pan below the dishwasher to soak up the water. The pan is directly behind the plastic base panel rim. Once the pan is empty and dry, your dishwasher will no longer be in "flood mode" and will run properly.

If the base pan keeps refilling with water and the no-fill problem returns, there is definitely another issue, such as a clogged drain. At this point, you need to decide whether to invest in an expert evaluation by a certified Bosch repairman and make the necessary repairs, or buy a new dishwasher.
