SOURCE: dcs oven display dim - need part #

I just did this same repair...same part number as above (Part #211696 "Electronic Oven Control, Double).
to install you have to remove two screws on the top of the display section of the oven, as well as several screws on the bottom of it, and the screws holding the close pin/temperature probe socket.
Then you can pull off the whole top section (slowly) and remove the two connectors to the existing control unit.
Then release the ribbon cable connected to the control unit on the inside of the top section (press the two small pins inward and slide up the small front section of the black socket to release the ribbon connector.
Unscrew the old control panel, screw in the new one, connect the ribbon, and then reverse removal steps. Easy!

Where can i buy a replacement control display

Hello Friends!
This dimming vacuum display is either caused by a power supply failure with the control board, or a the filaments of the display themselves have started to wear-- similar to that of a bad light bulb. Either way, FixYourBoard.com can solve this problem- This control board is no longer available to buy new. Contact FixYourBoard.com at 512-355-1108 for more information. The photo below is from a double oven, but they repair single oven displays too.

My DCS double ovens do not have any display left ( all th egreen display has faded in past three weeks) on the display panel. can you give me an idea of what i should do next Thanks Jim

The replacement part is (or was) Fisher & Paykel #16252 Electronic Oven Control (app. $240 in '06 when I replaced the last one). For what it's worth, I have had two boards fail in the past 10 years. On both of my boards, capacitor C3 (68 uf, 35v) is the part that failed. I replaced the bad cap on both boards (cost $0.16) and the displays were back to normal. Obviously, the failed caps were the manifestation, not the cause of the problem with my boards.

Need a service manual for wo-127ss DCS single wall oven. need to replace the control board because my display light went out. How do I take it apart?

you can call dcs, they will be happy to send you a manual,
but mostly, this should be pretty simple, three small black phillips heads hold tthe console down, the are above the door when closed
from there the panel should tilt forward and off
becareful they dont leave much room. or very long wires

DCS elect wall oven LCD display

Had the same display issue with my DCS WOS-230. The display was fading and made it very hard to read clock and temp setting. Called DCS/Fisher Paykal and was told I need the Control system kit for $335.00 to fix the issue. After reading the input on this issue on this site I pushed them to sell me just the DCS EOC 211696 double display module 100-01095-00. Install took 10 minutes and everything works great. Thanks all for laying the groundwork as DCS will really push hard to sell you the more expensive kit that you do not need.

Dim LCD's on DCS Double Wall Oven

Had the same problem last week - called DCS (which automatically transferred me to Fischer-Paykel) and was able to order the part from them.  They knew exactly what it was, and shipped to me in CA from CA, it was less than $90.  Just installed it, and the new one works swell.  One suggestion - I drew with a Sharpie on one side of each of the three parts that plug into the board to help align the new one, and to install the wide ribbon cable (not really a cable, but you'll know what I mean), pull up on the two side pieces and the ribbon pulls right out.  Keep it up and slide the new one in and then push the black piece down.  That was the only part that took me a minute to figure out.
