Replumb the outlet for the dishwasher into a different drainpipe. The installer put your dishwasher outlet onto your garbage grinder outlet.
If there is only one drain pipe under your sink then things get difficult.
You can try to lift the outlet hose from the washing machine a little bit but that might cause problems in your dishwasher.
A backflow valve on your dishwasher outlet might work if there is one available.

Check you drain is not blocked slighty (highly likely with a garbage disposal) and causing back pressure. Draino; Boiling Hot water; bicarb and vinegar,

How to drain

The wash cycle starts with the pump running to drain residual water from the tub. Make sure your drain is clear before starting each cycle. I run my garbage disposal with water on for a few seconds before starting the DW. If I don't it won't drain properly with food waste in the disposer basket. You may also need to pull and rinse your drain sump screen (front right corner). Just snap it out and rinse. If your machine doesn't power up at all you'll need to use a sponge to drain the tub

How do I connect the drain?

If you have a garbage disposal, you would hoook it up to the small port on the side of it. Before doing so make sure the knock out plug is removed inside the port or else the water wont be able to flow into the disposal and effectively out of the machine. If no disposal is present then you;ll need to somehow hook it into the drain system, usually under the sink.

My Fisher Paykel dishwasher frequently turns itself on and usually when it does this it keeps turning back on after I turn it off. It will only stay off if I leave the door open. This is not always but...

Most likey there is a back flow of water from the kitchen drain which is causing the drain pump in the drawer to start in order to empty it.

Check the drain hose is connected according to the installation instructions.

If you do not have one, then download from this site. If you are running a garbage disposal unit in sink then make sure it is operated regularly.

The dishwasher just stopt emptieing top first then bottom

This could be due to a block in the kitchen drain.

Have you checked if there is no garbage disposal unit in sink which has not been turned on.

Alternatively, take the drain hose from under the sink plumbing and drain straight into the the sink with some support. But this may be hard if the dishwasher is built into the cabinet.

Does not drain well

Since the drain pump will pump the water out using the "cancel/drain" button, if it did not work then your problem is likely to be in the drain hose system or the garbage disposal downstream from the drain pump. Check for kinks in clogs in the drain hose. Grease can build up in the portion of the drain hose just before it attaches to the garbage disposal.

Make sure the line that water exits from is up high enough that it cannot back up.The instructions say to keep the line as high as possible.

Fisher Paykel DD603 top drawer will not drain

Hi and welcome.
Either your hubby forgot to knock the plug out of the dishwasher connection on the new disposal, or he does not have a dual-air gap installed and the hoses to the dishdrawers do not have a high loop to prevent back-siphoning into the drawer...
