Thumbnails not loading in Imagemixer library. File names

You can download some software for the Vixia HF R100 here: https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/camcorders/support-high-definition-camcorders/vixia-hf-r100 . However, ImageMixer 3 SE is third-party software that is only available on the driver disc that came with the camera. Some companies will send you a replacement disc for a small fee. You'll need to contact Canon support, https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/ , to ask if they have discs available.

ImageMixer 3 SE is available here: http://www.pixela.co.jp/oem/canon/e/imagemixer3_se_canon/ . However, this is only for updating the software on a computer that already has the program installed.

MOI is a computer file format used primarily to represent information. MOI files are associated with MOD or TOD files whose content they represent. The Pixela ImageMixer Video Editing Software should allow you to save your videos to your hard drive. But you may need to install the latest version of Quicktime Player (free) to view the the .mov files as an alternative to the ImageMixer program's viewer. The currently bundled PIXELA software does not default to the correct audio settings. In the ImageMixer [Tool settings], confirm the USB Capture Device settings are set for an available [USB Audio Device]. This setting is not defaulted to the USB streaming mode.

The available USB audio device may be displayed as Sony Digital Imaging Device or USB Audio Device. When these choices are available, the Sony Digital Imaging Device should be selected.

Are you running klite? Haali media splitter is incompatible with ImageMixer.
Go to Klite Config Manage Spliiters and turn Haali off for anything with TS in it.

Canon makes all kinds of promises about what you can do with their wondrous Pixela software, most of which is untrue.

Like most bundled software, it's really bad. It says you can burn directly to a DVD. You can't. It conveniently forgets to inform you that if you record in MXP 24mbps mode, the file will be downconverted to 18mbps. It says it can write to a DVD-R or DVD-RW from the computer. It will render for a long time (10 minutes for a 6sec clip) then attempt to write to the DVD, THEN tell you that the WRITE FAILED without explaining why.

Bottom line, this is terrible editing and logging software.

To play the audio you need to download the AC3 filter pack here: http://www.free-codecs.com/AC3_Filter_download.htm. I have no idea why Canon didn't bundle this codac with all of the software they provide, but it worked for me. I use a Canon FS100, and had no sound in WMP (or any other Windows apps except VLC Media Player) until installing this.
