Sorry for sounding like an amateur, but I'm lost.
Can anyone tell me how to connect phono cables to my marantz PM68? Meaning red to right or left? Looking from behind.
Thanks!

Sometimes the fit on RCA cables varies slightly. I have some that are very tight and some are loose. Try spraying with an electronic lubricant fluid and put it on using a screwing left and right movement. It's a standard size so it will go on. Check to see if the metal shield of the plug has been slightly squashed
If you are talking about a phono preamp, take the output rca cables from the turntable, "red and white" plug it into the preamp input, "labled" next take a red and white cable wire male ends, "3 to 6" feet long, and plug the one end in the output of the preamp, "labled" and finally plug the remainder into the AUX input of the Marantz receiver matching the colour codes so the left and right channels don't get mixed up, you now should be good to go.
Have you connected the Left speaker to the right speaker using the supplied cable? If not, connect the cable to the socket on the back of the right speaker labelled "to left speaker" and on the left speaker, to the socket labelled "from right speaker" If this still doesn't solve the problem, try swapping the input cables (put the white plug in the red socket and vice versa) to see if this makes the left speaker produce sound, if it does, check the connection at the source to check the plug(s) are in all the way. If there is still no sound in the left speaker, unplug everything and do the following: connect the left and right speakers with the supplied phono lead (Probably black) between sockets labelled "to left speaker" and "from right speaker" then connect the source to any of the inputs on the back of the right speaker (ensure if using the red and white phono inputs that both are connected) finally plug in power source. Hope this helps
yee..check if you connected phono cables and try turn on and off your telly. yellow-this is vision,,,red--right channel,,,white-left channef of your sound...try also in menu options
Looks like you are using Component cables. There are five cables. The first three cables are Green,Blue and Red. These are the ones that are molded next to each other and are the Video signal cables. The other two cables are Red and White and they are the audio cables.
First to correctly hook up these cables you need to Connect (Match) Color for Color. (Green to Green, Blue to Blue, and Red to Red. To tell if you have correctly connected the Video cables is to look at the screen. If the picture looks ok (Normal with no colors missing then you have connected the video cables correctly). If you see a missing color meaning red, then switch the Red cables. The picture should be ok now. The remaining two cables are the Red and White cables. The "Red cable" is for the "Right" audio input and the "White" cable is for the "Left" audio Input". If all is connected correctly then you should have a good picture and Left and Right audio.
look on the back of the TV and there should be L/R audio outputs (white & red), connect this to a spare input of your amp via a connecting lead eg. AUX or any other input except PHONO.
first thing to do is take the left and put in in the right, do you get sound on the right? now take the phono cartridge wires and move the left to the right and right to the left does the sound move or stay same place. if they move with or not tells you if the cartridge is bad or phono plugs. if they dont move it's the phono plugs if the does move it's the cart.
Marantz SR 5200/6200 lost audio or crackling on left or right channel except in mode s-direct is now fixed ! The root cause is a defective inegrated circuit on DSP board (the one with digital inputs). To fix it change the chip CS4391 by a new one or better by the improved version CS4392. On my device a capacitor was cut close to this IC : replace one 1uF after changing the IC. For any question search me with my callsing "F5RCT"; i have a spare IC for the one who is able to change it ! I'm amateur radio and engineer
