All the buttons on the appliance won't work except for one

We had the appliance for 7 years and it worked great until recently the buttons wouldn't work. It began when the clear/off button would not work and eventually all of the buttons stopped functioning. When this problem occurs we would usually unplug the cord yet it only restores the number 1 express cook button. In order to stop the cooking time, the door latch release would be used. In some instances the some of the buttons work yet this occurs sporadically.

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

This microwave has a 1 year warranty. You are going to need a new keypad to correct your symptom. Let Sharp pay for it.

Control panel for GE microwave

The control panel module is different from the membrane. Unfortunately these modules themselves are usually very expensive, perhaps 1/2 the cost of a new microwave.

Sorry.

The microwave just stopped working in the middle of heating

Always have something in the microwave before turning on. A glass of water is OK. It's needed to absorbed the energy.
All microwaves will stop if the door is opened. This a safety feature. Never operate with the door opened.
The button below the plug outlet is a test button for the GFI (Ground Fault Interrupter). This is a safety feature of the electrical wiring for your home. Make sure it's turned on.
Since this is a new unit, you may want to take it back to the store you bought from for an exchange/refund.

MVP Iv vm12ab-1 microwave

I have an MVP III Magic Chef microwave for the past twenty years. Every Function on the smartboard works except for the start button. We've been told that the smartboards for this model have been discontinued. I recently tried to find the part online and my search was not successful. Any ideas on how to proceed to get my microwave up and running again...

Display has a f2 code on it. whirlpool oven is model mh1150xm and less than 3 years old.

determined from whirlpool that the f2 display is from the control circuit board. the board's problem is intermittent and needs eventually replacing. not covered by warranty. determined that whirlpool has reduced the warranty for the electronic circuits in its appliances from 5 to 1 year. this is great for consumer confidence in whirlpool. have had trouble with 2 other new whirlpool appliances. probably will not buy another whirlpool appliance.
