Cyberhome has gone out of business in the US. My DVR 1200 stopped working but I was able to repair some capacitors on the power supply to get it going again. You can find more support information about the 1200 and 1600 on these websites: http://cms-system.cyberhome-dvd-help.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=14183 or www.nerd-out.com and search for Cyberhome.

Hi,

It would appear that this posting represents two (2) separate problems; 1) dead set; and 2) No Disc.

Dead set indicated by "will not come on, no time dislay, disc door will not open" is power related. It could be a fuse, power supply, switching regulator. Repairs would require familiairty with electronic components and circuitry, use of a DVM and a soldering iron. Additionally, acces to a service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram would help in pinpointing defective components.

No Disc - would appear to be a "laser eyer". Am afraid that this is indicative of a weakening optics or the laser. You can of course still give it a cleaning using CD ROM cleaner normally used for computers. Additionally you can try using a can of compress air to force out any dust inside the unit. Other than that all other actions would require opening the unit for a look and see, manual cleaning or worst case scenario, parts replacement.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I have a cyberhome dvr 1200 lost the remote so i want to program a universal remote to use but have no luck with any codes

contact cyberhome to find out who actually makes the unit (e.g. western digital, scientific atlanta). then use the codes for the actual manufacturer on your universal remote. that should do the trick.
