Magellan roadmate 1430 no sat signal

This model does not have map coverage of Canada. This model was designed for us only in the US. The models in that series with Canada maps were the RoadMate 1212, 1412, and 1430.

Mine actually stopped working the same day you posted this. How strange is that? I have not been able to figure out what is wrong with it. Have you figured out a solution?

If this unit has an internal battery it may be bad, other wise I would reload the software or get a updated version of the operating software. Have you contacted Magellan?

there is a fuse in the tip of the plug that goes into the socket. unscrew the end of the plug to gain access to the fuse.

As for connecting it to the computer, you'll need the usb cable that came with it. Then you'll want to do this:
Follow these steps to connect your Magellan RoadMate to your PC.

1. Turn ON your Magellan RoadMate.
2. Touch "Map" to display the map screen.
3. Connect your GPS to your PC using the USB cable.

check that your battery is fully charged use an AC charger if you have one.
Check Baud rate and port are set in accordance with manual

try a hard reset again using a paper clip, insert it in the little pin hole on the side to reset the unit. if that fails, get the 3.12 update (if you havent already) off the magellan site..you must register the unit with magellan before you can download the update.

I got a Roadmate 760 from my employer to use. It won't pick up my current location and is not working right. Help!

All navigation units are GPS Receivers - that is - they receive satellite signals. So, no there is no difference.
