MISSING NTLDR FILE To repair missing NTLDR or corrupted system file/s, boot up with the Windows installation CD then - Press R to repair when instructed. Press 1 or Enter to repair the C:\Windows folder. Then type chkdsk /r and then press Enter. The repair process will take quite a long time.
The NTLDR is the boot loader of Windows - if it's missing the OS can't boot. The only reliable and easy way to fix that is to do a Repair install - everything will be kept and the missing files reloaded.
The issue is your system is not loading off of the boot drive- check for usb keys, floppies, even sometimes cds can cause the issue. If that does not work, you'll need to get your copy of windows, boot to that disk, and run a chkdsk /r in the repair option. If that does not work, you will need to reinstall Windows.
