Try these resets:
Download the latest iTunes to your computer and reset the iPhone. Then re-sync it.
Reset

To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds. During this time, a red "power off" slider may appear and the screen may go black, but do not release Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the Apple logo appears.
If iPhone won't turn on, or the display freezes or doesn't respond

  1. Press and hold the Home button for at least six seconds, until the application you were using quits.
  2. If that doesn't work, turn iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPhone for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
  3. If that doesn't work, reset iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

More resets:
Try This:
1. Remove Sim Card
2. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until Apple logo appears
3. Replace Sim Card
4. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until normal phone screen appears.

Also, Try this:
1.) Shut down the iPhone 3G.
2.) Start up iTunes
3.) Hold down HOME button on the iPhone 3G
4.) While keeping the HOME button depressed, plug in the Sync cable
5.) A message will pop up to ask if you want to reset.
6.) Just click YES and the reset process should start.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

I cannot send nor receive calls, nor send and receive text messages as of yesterday, April 18, 2011... I am currently using a postpaid SIM... thanks

there are several factors why you are unable to send and receive messages and make outgoing calls and receive incoming calls.
network issue: are you the only one experiencing the problem? try to check with someone who is on the same location and is using the same network as you if he or she is experiencing the same problem as you. if yes, then it may be a problem with your network.
make sure that you have good signal and contact your service provider too and ask them if they have an ongoing maintenance in the area and ask if the sms and calls services are activated on your account
phone issue: if you have a good signal and still can't send, receive text messages, do and receive incoming, outgoing calls, try to do these: call the service provider and ask for the default network pin, then go to the settings of your phone, call settings, call barring, deactivate all barring
try inserting your sim card to another phone and try to send an sms
turn off your phone, remove battery and sim card and then wait for a few seconds, then put back the sim and battery and turn on the phone then try to send an sms

My cell switches off whenever i get an incoming call or try to make a call .Even while sending the sms ,i am facing the same problem

Likely causes are:
Battery problems (not charged or won't hold a charge). Replace battery.
Loose or dirty battery connections. Remove the battery, inspect and clean the contacts on the battery and in the phone.
Phone problem. Sometimes can be corrected by removing the battery and reinstalling it after a few moments.
If everything else fails, the phone needs to be repaired.
Thank you for using Fixya, your generous rating will be much appreciated.

I have a N96 phone. when i take a call it comes as 'connection error'. if someone calls me it gets disconnected after 2 rings? otherwise I am able to send SMS. Please let me know how to resolve this...

That seem like a connection problem the signal is too weak to maintain the connection between you and the caller. You should contact you mobile service provider first let them check the signal quality first,if they said the signal quality is good, this mean you should replace the antenna for your phone.

Losing battery power faster

Batteries on cell phones will demonstrate a quicker discharge for the following reasons:

1. You are in a coverage area that is weak. This is because your antenna is using more power to pick up an acceptable signal.

2. If your cell phone has a browser or other applications that can run simultaneously or in the background, you might "think" you've exited an application when in fact it's just minimized or hidden. Either try to find the application that's running in the background or restart your phone (pull battery) to clear memory.

Tips: Adjust the screen brightness lower, reduce vibration rings, set timeout or inactivity time lower.

Hope some of this helps...

Battery doesnt last long on full recharge and its a new battery and new charger

What are you using your phone for? The amount of power the phone consumes differs dramatically depending on how often you use it and if you play games / browse the internet a lot. etc. Try using the phone only for sms' and calls and see if there is a difference.

If the battery is losing power quickly even while the phone isn't being used often / at all, it could be a problem with your phone - and not the battery/charger. I recommend taking it to a repair center / technician to have both the phone and the battery checked out.

It has happened in the past that two batteries in a row are a dud - so it is best to have both checked.

Good luck,

I cant send text the text keep going to the out box instead to the numder it was intented

May be your SMS settings are messed, try this turn your Cell Phone off, and remove the battery, after a Minute, place the battery in, and turn it again on. This will refresh the SMS settings and will overwrite the previous settings, but remember there may also be some problem at the service provider End, so if your problem prevails do give them a call.

My E65 phone wont send sms but i can make a call and also recieve sms and calls...i wanna solution

The only way to fix this is by calling your service provider. It is a problem with the net work not your phone. You could try just taking the battery out of the phone and starting it back up and see if that fixes the problem otherwise you have to call your service provider. Sorry your having so much trouble!

Sms Text messenger

It just means 2 AAA (triple a) batteries. Any store with batteries should have them. They are also known as LR03 but not typically called that in the US. AAA batteries will be 1.5 volts each.

Text messaging

Try doing a master reset first on your phone, it could be that the settings for sending messages is different from your previous sim card....

Check for message settings... and look for an SMS center number... once you found that option on your phone, contact your service provider for the correct SMS center number.. =)

have a nice day
