Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-27FS120 27" TV

1 Answer

White horizontal, zig-zagging lines

All channels and DVD play. But white horizontal, zig-zagging lines run across the screen. There are about 14 bright white lines going up from right to left and 14 faint lines connecting the bright lines. The lines are slightly concave in the middle of screen. I think I heard a slight pop or crack when the lines appeared. The TV is 3 years old and I am out of warranty. Is this a possible/ reasonably priced fix or should I get a new TV.

It sounds to me like you're describing the re-trace of the unit. It is repairable, and more so the sooner you get it to the repair facility.

I have owned an emerson tv for two years now. All of a sudden the picture has become very blurry and white. It is not the cable connection and a DVD is also white and blurry. Even the input channels are...

you must open the back cover of tv, and then things you should do is set "SCREEN" adjustment on the flyback transformer. you must turn it counterclockwise to reduce and decrease the level of screen brightness. turn screen adjustment gradually until the horizontal blanking lines disappear from the screen. and blurred images will be sharp again

If it is a horizontal line is straite or zig zag, if it is straite then problem in your vertical section, please check the supply of vertical section or output ic of vertical, if it is zig zag line then it could be dry solder in the yoke connector or vertical yoke open, please let me know the vertical ic no.

if the screen is real bright green with thin small white lines in it its probably a shorted picture tube. Or a shorted Green driver Transistor. Good Luck
