My computer keeps shutting off at random times. I would like to set my Laptop back to factory settings. How can I accomplish this task?

  • Take account of any files or programs you still want to use after the Toshiba laptop is restored back to its factory settings. Transfer the files to a backup location, such as a USB flash drive or external hard drive.
  • 2 Restart the Toshiba Satellite laptop's operating system. Wait for the Toshiba logo to appear on the screen.
  • 3 Press the key that brings up the hard drive disk utility menu. Depending on the specific model of your Toshiba Satellite laptop, the key will either be "0," "F1," or "F8."
  • 4 Press "1" or click "Restore Original Factory Image." Click "Yes." Select "Next" to begin the restoration process.
  • 5 Restart the Toshiba laptop computer when the restoration process finishes running. Follow the prompts that appear on the screen to set up the laptop's date, time and language settings.

I have a toshiba satellite L645D how can I format it to the factory settings like it just came out of the box.

When your Toshiba Satellite laptop goes on the fritz, there are several instances where the best solution is to delete everything and start over. If your system frequently crashes or you can't remove a specific virus, you may want to restore the laptop back to original factory settings. While the easiest way to restore the system is to use the operating system restore disc, it is possible to restore the system without it. Each Satellite laptop also includes a hard drive recovery utility that lets you restore the operating system without the restore disc.

1.Take account of any files or programs you still want to use after the Toshiba laptop is restored back to its factory settings. Transfer the files to a backup location, such as a USB flash drive or external hard drive.

2.Restart the Toshiba Satellite laptop's operating system. Wait for the Toshiba logo to appear on the screen.

3.Press the key that brings up the hard drive disk utility menu. Depending on the specific model of your Toshiba Satellite laptop, the key will either be "0," "F1," or "F8."

4.Press "1" or click "Restore Original Factory Image." Click "Yes." Select "Next" to begin the restoration process.

5.Restart the Toshiba laptop computer when the restoration process finishes running. Follow the prompts that appear on the screen to set up the laptop's date, time and language settings.

6.Transfer the backup copies of the data you saved earlier back to the Toshiba's hard drive. Re-install any programs you need, such as your software firewall or anti-virus tool.

Please help me restore my toshiba laptop to factory defult

In order to restore your toshiba, you will need the restore disks that were included or that you created when you bought the laptop. Make sure all your documents and personal data is backed up because once you start the restoration everything will be lost. The computer will be exactly as you purchased it from the store.

Insert the first restore CD/DVD into the laptop and restart the computer. It should automatically load but if it doesn't, let me know and I'll talk you through how to get the computer to load from your CD Rom first.

I NEED TO RESTORE MY TOSHIBA LAPTOP TO FACTORY

Since Toshiba doesn't sells or replaces them the best solutions for you are:
1 - get an Windows XP install disk of the same type as the one on your pc and install with it while using your key - in this case you will gonna find and install all the drivers yourself
2 - just borrow from someone an recovery disk for your laptop; even one for a similar laptop will do, as long it's an Toshiba Satellite A series -  some drivers will be missing, install them yourself.

    Restore Original Configuration

The best advice I feel that I can give you, is to contact Toshiba Support, and ask about how to obtain the Recovery Disk, for your Satellite L305-S5919.

    Toshiba Support- Contact Us,

    http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/navShell.jsp?cf=su_contact

Generally, the Recovery Disk contents can be downloaded over the internet, or a Recovery Disk CD is mailed to you.
If it's feasible for you, I advise having the CD mailed to you.

This way you'll have a CD, accessible right at your fingertips, and can do a Fresh Install, or a Repair, whenever you like.

Would also like to offer the Drivers and Software download page, for your Toshiba laptop.
It's best to Refine your search, and go to the top heading -> Refine Search By: Operating System <- , and choose the Operating System you're using. (Examples: Windows XP or Windows Vista)
