Question about Kenmore 16602 / 16604 / 16609 Built-in Dishwasher

Kenmore mdl 665.16034401 dishwasher

the green "clean" light on my dishwasher is blinking. There is no water in the bottom, and cancel doesn't help. Sears won't help me without sending out a service tech. I believe I just need to know how to reset it. It's hard-wired, I believe, so would have to pull it out to unplug it. My grandkids have been here and I think that they may have pushed my buttons. Can you help me with reset button codes? thanks, jeanne

I have the same model number 66516033401 Kenmore (only 2 1/2 yrs old). i have tried resetting the machine by pressing sani-rinse and heated dry several times. It seems to be running now. YEA!!! I just hope it continues. I had a repair guy out and he wanted to charge me $275 to replace the control panel. THANK YOU for your help!!!

Looking at your control panel there should be a option/clear button. push that button then the button to the right of that button back and forth untill all lights light up. that will start a test mode just let the test mode run once its done you should be able to run the dishwasher again

Water in bottom of kenmore elite ultra wash dishwasher

you must check the filters that are at the bottom under the spray arm
then you must start and then hold down cancel or stop and it should kick in the automatic water discharge mode and activate the water pump if this does not work you need new dishwasher pump installed which can be found online by googleing your model number. gut if this all works then the small flapper thats internal on the pump isnt sealing and allowing water to flow back into the bottom. last but not least you might need a new control board.

Flashing or blinking green clean light 7 times?

This dishwasher looks for a temperature rise of the water during a heating cycle if it fails to see this rise for multiple cycles it may shut down and blink the clean light 7 times.

The failure can be wide ranging here are a few things to check before resetting the control.

-The unit not being level so both door switches do not make contact

- The sump plugged up so water is not pumping across the heater (see sump clean out below)

- Not enough water filling the dishwasher

- The heat element is not working

To reset the control use this key dance within 5 seconds press:

This will cause you to enter the diagnosis cycle once this is finished or you hit cancel the control should be unlocked and ready to use.

Green clean dishes light blinking instead not blinking. Dishes clean, but not totally dry. I removed them from dishwasher. Clean green light continues to blink after door is shut. Pushing cancel...

If clean light is blinking then it may be an issue with heater circuit, door switch or wash pump, please reset the power to the dishwasher. After, 5 minutes check if you are still getting the same error. If yes, then it is a water heating fault. To resolve this error try pressing this reset sequence-- Heat Dry - Normal - Heat Dry - Normal or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry or Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry, Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry. Now let the unit run for 2-3 minutes and then you press the Cancel/Drain button and allow it to completely drain and reset. If this doesn't work then it's an issue with the wash pump not pumping the water past the heater efficiently or due to lack of water to heat. Please make sure that heater is not open circuited and is heating the water efficiently. You'll have to check the heater using a multimeter; the meter should read between 3000 to 3300 ohms (Use multimeter on Rx1 ohm setting). If heater is fine then make sure water pressure is optimum and fill valve is working fine. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Talking about a kenmore 665.16389300 dishwasher. the "normal wash" button is blinking, but none of the other buttons seem to work and the cleaning cycle will not start when i press the...

Open the door. Within 3 seconds press the following sequence --Try pressing normal wash, heated dry, normal wash, heated dry, normal wash, heated dry three times within 6 seconds and then press cancel to reset the dishwasher. If that doesn't help then try pressing Saini Rinse, Heated Dry, Saini Rinse, Heated Dry, Saini Rinse, Heated Dry or Saini Rinse, Air Dry, Saini Rinse, Air Dry, Saini Rinse, Air Dry 3 times in 6 seconds and then the Cancel Button. Close the door and press Cancel.
Blinking lights would stop and should be able to use your dishwasher normally. If the light is still blinking try and reset the power to the dishwasher and try again. If still the light is blinking then check for the connections on the keypad, it may be due to moisture or shorted connections on keypad. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

The green clean light is flashing. It will not go off even when we press cancel. The wash cycle was not completed. The model # is 665.17283400.

The green clean light means that your dishwasher isn't heating the water. Go to the link below to see how to reset the error code and check for reasons that the error happened.

Good luck
