SOURCE: galaxy 98vhp no modulation am

Turn up your mike gain. Mod the beans out of it and that should fix your problem. Crank every screw you can see on the board and wash it out with soap and water. This will fix it good.

SOURCE: Galaxy DX 98VHP meter stopped

You appear to be aware of you antenna system with the separate meter attached so the tells me you dont punish a radio with an high swr. I am just guessing red wire/solder in mic cord at plug given that it is a side mic mic jack.
Stock mic
1- Shield (Ground)
2- Yellow (Audio)
3- Red (Transmit)
4- White (Receive)

Wiring a d104 mic to a 98v galaxy mobile

Here are the pinouts for the 4 wire and 6 wire D104 mics. they were great microphones back in the 1980s. I used to have one on my Ten-Tac HF ham radio.

Astatic (4 wire) Astatic (6 wire)
1- Shield 1- Shield & Blue
2- White 2- White
3- Red 3- Red
4- Black 4- Black

Yellow NC

you just need to know what the pin out is for your 10M Radio. here is what each pin is
4 WIRE MIC CABLE
Pin Number
1 Audio Shield
2 Audio Lead
3 Transmit Control
4 Receive Control
here is the manual.

When cb shop plugged in to test, turned on off switch, mod lamp light flashed on then off,no power

the modulation lamp is powered by diodes . They may have shorted one out and thats why it doesn't light up. If they broke it they should fix it though.

My galaxy 98 vhp burnt up two times and just recently for the third time-when will I get a replacements?..

Are you using heavy guage wiring ? Does your power supply have a variable power switch to allow you to give it more juice. Maybe you are pushing to many amps into it ?????????? there has to be a crack in the pcb board or a cold solder joint that is causing the problem . Has he checked all the components to make sure they are in working order . Install a 1n4003 diode across the positive power wire coming into the radio . It will act as a reverse polarity diode and if it blows then you should have him check as to why it burnt out.

Tuning my galaxy 98vhp after 8 mosfets replaced

the question should be ,How do I not burn it up again? What did you do to make it burn the first time ? Maybe it wasn't even the mosfets but the fact that it just shorted out. If you have a service manual use it ,it will have all the information you want to know. If you don't have one then go to www.cbtricks.com look up radios/galaxy/98vhp/ then you manual will be there.
