2004jeep 4 wheel drive will not ingadge properly

The speedometer on a 2004 Grand Charokee gets its signal via the PCI data bus from the ABS control module. Both rear wheel speed sensors are used for the speed signal.

u may have a lock hub failing 2 engage on front axles.if u have autolockers they have been knowen 2 seize up.some times a strip down&clean out®rease will sort them out also check the front jack shalft from transfer box 2 front diff make sure not lose or play in unijoints

need to know if its 2 or 4 wheel drive. 2 wheel drive bj is part of lower control arm
4 wheel drive the bj can be replaced separately.if you can clarify i can give proper procedure

It may be as simple as the bulb in your dash display (there's a bulb behind each "message" light) being burnt out. If everything is working properly, that may be it.

The 4 wheel drive is engaged by a solenoid. It is run by 12 volts. I would check your fuse in the fuse panel, if the fuse is good, then it may be a relay or the solenoid itself.
You may even have a code that tells you what is wrong. You will have to have a scan tool plugged in to retrieve the code.
