We have a George Foreman -GRP99 grill and really enjoy it. It is 2 years old and the teflon finish on the top gill(cover) is now bubbling and we would like to know how to replace that part. The bottom shows NO signs of bubbling. Can you help> BeeJay I have the large stand indoor/outdoor George Foreman grill. It is not quite 2 years old and the teflon finish is bubbling. Is this covered by warranty at all? It was a gift I a know that I have tossed all the paper work. If I kept all that stuff for everything I would need to rent a storage facility to keep it all.
Unfortunately this is a common problem among these grills, your only option is to replace it unless you have an extended warranty... if you want to keep using it, you can use a scotchbrite or similar metal pad to get rid of most of the teflon coating. if you want to replace it because you love electric grilling and don't much like teflon flakes in your food, i would recommend that your next grill have stainless steel or cast iron grilling surfaces..
hope this helps,

Teflon kills you.
Piss on it!

first go to this link and see if they still stock the part (they still sell the grill so i think you should get lucky) http://www.esalton.com/control/contactus If you need any help swapping them, please ask again. Hope this helps :)

My George Foreman grill has the Teflon flaking off and is very difficult to clean. While trying to clean the grill with a cloth the Teflon comes off.
thats it!! i am not buying another one! have had 3 and the finish has bubbled off every one. i like the ease of cooking on this, and it is small on my deck, not like the big ugly gas grills, but i won't spend the money again. George you should be ashamed of yourself. stand behind your product!
Don't blame George Foreman. I've had the same thing happen with the George and also with the Cuisinart Grillerie and the Breville. I finally bought a cast iron from Wolfgang Puck, but the on/off switch broke after about 6 months. After they told us to cut the power plug off and send it to them so they could replace the unit, they called to say the grills were out of stock and it was unknown when or if they would get any. I'm currently searching for the part to repair the Puck (it's made by Waring). Beware that the cast iron is REALLY hard to clean...
