My pull cord broke on my honda p.w. and replace and had bad pump

So now I am trying to find a pump for my md.xr-2600 gc160 honda pw. and am not having much luck because honda dose not carry the pump. I have been told it might need to be replaced with a karcher pump. but have not found anybody that can confirm this .. when your pump frezzes up it gets very hard for the pull cord to work so it breaks and is usally caused by a bad pump???????

Before you trash the pump, try this. Get a very good flush through the entire system from faucet to trigger. Let it run for say, 5 minutes. Make sure that there are no high spots in the hose supply line where air can be trapped. Once done, start the engine, but this time with the trigger depressed on the spray nozzle. This acts like an unloader, and makes it much easier to start, as there is no back pressure. I had a P/W that I had to crank that way. It worked for me. I have a new one now, and I still crank it the very same way. One last tip: If you need to shut down the machine, say, for a pit stop or lunch, leave the trigger depressed with the engine off. It allows the pump to cool, and makes re-starting much easier.
Best regards, and please rate this solution. Thanx, --W/D--

Honda XR 2600 pressure washer, cord will not pull on engine

This is typically due to the unloader bypass valve not operating properly. You can remove and clean this valve or you may want to replace the valve with a new one.
If you take the high pressure hose off of the pump and with the water turned on you can start the engine each time then you probably should replace the unloader bypass valve.

Here is a link to the pump.

I have a Honda GC160, 2.2gpm, 2400psi pressure washer. How much and what kind of oil do i put in the pump? I wasn't getting much pressure so I pulled the pump apart.(bad move)

We are talking about the water pump here right . A stright 30 weight and it for that size pump about 14 ounces .4 liters look at the little window on the pump on level ground it should be at the half way point . If you want to buy offical pump oil the # is AW-4085-0016 This is MI-T-M spec but with this # you should be able to cross refferance to your pump make in case there is an issue with detegent or non detergent oils it could be an issue for the seals . But its basicaly 30 weight oil

Hose broke off fitiing

If fitting on hose broke off, replace hose. If the fitting on pump body broke off it may be a special fitting with a siphon fitting for soap induction which means it may be a model specific part. Start with a model breakdown of parts for your model PW. Honda made motors for a few different PW models and the water pump casing will change with manufactures.

I have a Karcher 2,600 PSI 2.3 GPM Gas Pressure Washer G 2600 VHR that I have used once last summer. I have stored the PW in my basement with no fuel in the gas tank. The PW was never exposed to freezing...

Hi I have a similar pressure washer from Kartcher and the same scenario as yours I have owned it for about 2 years and noticed that it was getting harder and harder to start with each time I use it which is months. If your pw has a honda engine on it the likely culprit may be the carbuerator. The main and pilot jets may get clogged up with gunk from dired up gasoline. To see if you have a fuel problem spray a shot of starter fluid into the carberator with the choke open, then close it and try to start. If it runs for about a second and dies, then the carbuerator is at fault and you are not getting fuel into your motor and all you're doing is working out your arm.
