Avaya Partner ACS 18D phone with a completely useless display, needing to disable the ringer, but can't navigate the feature menu because of the display Do you have a step-by-step way to achieve this?

The display is completely blank and has been for a year. This particular phone that we need to silence is in our new Family Service room, where grieving families meet to make arrangements for their deceased loved ones.

Try hitting the speaker button and intercom your boss. When you hit the speaker button to hang up, do you get the same thing? If not. It could be that the gray "clicker" switch that pushes down when you put the handset back isnt going all the way back down...

It's easier and more stable to program a button for FLASH (F03). The timing is in program 107 and sets to about 18-20 for 450 to 500 milliseconds.

Get yourself 2 alkaline AA batteries, keep the power on, and look for the door on the lower part of the face on the ACS processor module. Pop the cover and replace the batteries.

You should first check your owners manual...

The most likely cause:
is the "DND" (do not disturb) Feature is "ON".

Caller id partner

To program a Caller ID Name Display button using remote administration on Partner ACS Release 3 or later systems:
  1. In the Partner ACS R3 System window, select Extensions. The Extensions window appears.
  2. Select the extension you want to program. The Individual Extension Parameters window appears for the selected extension.
  3. Select the Button Programming button. The Button Programming window appears for the selected extension.
  4. Optional - For new systems where no download is available: From the Phone Model box, select the arrow and choose Partner-34D, Partner-18D, Partner-18 Non-display, Partner/MLS-6 Non-display, MLC-6 Cordless, MLS-12 Non-display, MLS-12D, MLS-18D, or MLS-34D for this extension. The button layout for the type of phone you selected appears.
  5. Select the button you want to program. The Partner Set Button Programming Information dialog box appears.
  6. Select the Caller ID Name Display button.
  7. When you are finished, select the OK button.
  8. Repeat steps 5 to 7 to program other buttons for this extension.

How do you disable the intercom feature on an Avaya Partner 18D phone?

Unfortunately, you can not, as this would disable the ability of dialing other extensions, thus making the system useless.

You need the intercom buttons to transfer calls, so that is another reason.

Is there an downloadable users manual? we just installed this phone and do not know how to set date/time.

Here's a link to avaya's site for a Partner ACS users guide. Not knowing which type of partner system you have, this one should get you into the ball park. Theres also programming and installation guides for the different systems there.

Also, here's how to change the time.
Changing the time on a Partner system is done on either ext 10 or 11. At one of those ext's press the feature key and "00"
next press the left hand intercom twice
the display should say system programming
enter in "#103"
the display should say system time and the current programmed time
enter the new time in 24 hour format
press feature "00" to logout

I need to set the ringers to only ring at the two receptionist desks and not everyone else's offices. Please help! We have Avaya Partner 18D phones.

Partner ACS systems come with Centralized programming instructions. Most of them starting with Feature 00 Left Intercom twice and Right Intercom. When you dial an extension, the lights will be solid or blink according to how it's programmed and you press each button to turn on or off or delay ringing.

Your system administrator should have a book.

Changing the time on a Partner system must be done from extension # 10 or 11. 1. At station(Ext.10 or 11) press feature, 0, 0
2. Press the left intercom 2 times
3. Enter # 103
4. Enter the correct time in 24 hr. format, for example:
* to set the time for 09:00 A.M., enter 0900
* to set the time for 04:45 P.M., enter 1645

Avaya Lucent Phone Questions

Those are pretty easy requests. At extension 10 or 11 go to the phone and press FEATURE 00 LIC LIC (where lic is the left intercom button) #103 and dial your time in 4 digit military time. If you need the date its #101. Press Feature 00 to exit.

Manuals are always available for download at www.avaya.com and you have to search for them. I also have one on my public website at http://public.carl.airpost.net/Avaya/Partner_ACS.pdf

This is for an ACS 4.0 IIRC. It works for most applications.
