It is doubtful cleaning the filter and using Dettol will have caused any problems.

I believe it was quite common to have a programme where the washer stopped mid-rinse before pumping out the water in order to reduce creasing of the clothes. The programmer would be advanced when it was convenient to do so and the rinse cycle would continue and finish with the final spin.

I suggest you read the instruction manual before deciding whether there is a fault or not...

Testimonial: "Thank you Vernon, but the machine stops after taking some water in and does not finish the programme. Then we put the drainage programme which also pauses after taking out some water. After three times of putting the drainage programme the machine empties and the drainage cycle finishes."

It would be worth checking the pressure switch is working and the tube and inlet into the tub is clear. Possible the Dettol moved some sediment around and caused a blockage. The tube and pressure switch is how the brain knows how much water is in the tub.

Unfortunately if an old sock or something is floating around in the tub causing a blockage the drum will have to be removed to gain access.

If all else fails it would seem the controller is at fault.

Do you put detergent in the frigidaire affinity front loader clean washer cycle?

Good Afternoon Jodi,

I understand that you are wondering if you put detergent in your Frigidaire Affinity washer for the clean cycle. You do not put detergent in. You will want to take the detergent cup out and put a cup of bleach in there when you run the clean cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your washer status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Indesit IDL 850 dishwasher: dishes in the top drawer ONLY are dirty: residues is left on and inside what is in the top drawer, so that they come out dirtier than when they went in. This is new: I have not...

If he Dishes Are Not Clean:

- Have you put the right amount of detergent into the dispenser?

- Is the wash cycle suitable for the dishes you have placed inside the
appliance?
- Are the filter and microfilter clean?

- Can the sprayer arms turn freely?

This is how the manual helps.

The washer reaks with oder, smells like a sewer, when you shake the tube there is water left in the bottom. we have used the clean cycle plus tablets and it does not solve the problem. it is almost to a...

using to much detergent will make the washer stinky, also it will eat at the spider gear in the back of the tub and when that happens it's new washer time,it costs 450 to 500 dollars just for the part, you should be using 1/4 cup of detergent and it should be H.E. detergent, when the wash is done you should wipe down the boot seal, spred it open and clean out the bottom part and wipe it down till it's dry.also you could have debris stuck in the filter in the pump.remove the bottom panel, unscrew the middle part of the pump and whatever is in the filter clean it out,it gets loaded with coins, lint and everything else that gets left in the clothing and then it gets a detergent buildup and my god does it stink, you would think the detergent wouldn't smell but it does,so wipe down the boot, use less detergent and every 4 to 6 months clean out the pump and you should be fine, let me know how you make out,run the washer with nothing in it,if you see suds in there this is your problem, after you clean out the pump and run it with nothing in it use the tablets again and go from there, good luck

Monthly Cleaning Protocol

  1. Hello. here it is: Use only the proper amount of HE (high-efficiency) detergent in your Duet. Whirlpool has stated that using too much detergent or fabric softener in the Duet can ruin a high-speed spin bearing responsible for spinning the basket. The replacement part is approximately $600. Whirlpool also claims that using too much detergent or softener can cause fungus growth.
  2. If you have mold and mildew problems with your Duet, check the filter trap. Unplug the washer and remove the three screws in the seam between the door and the bottom panel to remove the bottom panel. The Duet drain pump has a design flaw that leaves about a cup of water in the filter trap under the tub. Clean out that filter with bleach every month or two to eliminate mold problems.
  3. Put small items in a mesh bag before washing. There is a good chance they will get lodged in the Duet's filter trap, if you don't. Check the filter trap mentioned in Step 2 monthly to make sure there aren't any small items blocking the filter.
  4. Remove your detergent dispenser every month and wash with warm water and bleach to prevent mold buildup. Remove the fungus smell from your washer with Affresh washer cleaner. Always keep the washer door open when not in use.

How do you clean the air filter?

Hi, in most small A.C, remove filter, either from side or bottom, and you wash with water until clean, you could use a little detergent, let it drain for a while, then put back. you can also replace them after a while, check your appliance store for new filters. good luck

Dryer stops and won't start again

hi
Step 1: Remove the cap that holds the sprayer arm on.

Step 2: Remove the sprayer arm, the screen, the pump housing, a bolt, the upper impeller, the food disposer blade, a spacer plate, the impeller hood, a flat plate, an O-ring, and the lower impeller. Lay the parts out in order as you disassemble them so that you'll be able to reassemble them properly.

Step 3: Clean the parts thoroughly with a mild detergent solution. If any parts are worn, replace them with new ones made for the dishwasher.

Step 4: Replace any seals, such as the O-ring or other washers, with new ones.

Step 5: Reassemble the pump, keeping the parts in order.

To reach the water pump, remove the sprayer arm and screen and then the pump housing. Remove the bolt, and the pump components can be disassembled.

On some dishwashers, the lower impeller serves as a drain pump. This type of system usually has a reversible motor; machines with nonreversible motors have drain valves, as detailed previously. If your machine possesses this impeller pump system, and the water will not drain from the dishwasher, clean the lower pump impeller. This may solve the problem. Otherwise, call a professional service person.
