In-car entertainment systems, especially the types chosen for camper vans, etc., are often capable of quite high power outputs and usually need speakers capable of being driven at those high power outputs without damage.
The trouble is, such speakers usually don't sound so good at the very low volume settings needed for evening and late night use in a campsite environment to avoid annoyance to neighbours.
It is a big problem choosing speakers that sound good at low volume and yet can withstand the higher volume needed to overcome the wind and road noise of driving. There have been many technological advances in speaker design and a hi-fi specialist will undoubtedly be able to make suitable recommendations that are resistant to damp conditions, long-lasting and with cones free enough for good reproduction at ultra low volumes but robust enough to withstand high power outputs and such drive units are likely to be fairly expensive.
For myself I would choose to use a dual speaker system with a multi-speaker system comprising several low-powered speakers strategically placed for low volume use and a fairly standard high-powered system for normal use and a selector switch.
Try stripping the speaker wires and exposing it about 1 inch. Then connect the speaker wires in a way that the part that grips or holds the wires touches the metal part and not the insulation. If there's still no sound, Please check the external speakers to see if it's working by using them in another device like a home system or audio player or maybe another tv that has an external speaker port. If not, mostly likely the switches are defective and needs replacement by a qualified technician.
I was installing a speaker and while drilling a spark flew. Didn't think anything of it and finished instalation. When finished the audio didn't work on any of my speakers. I have a jensen cd6112 and the unit seemed to be fine. Tuned in, the lights came on and everything. I hooked a radio straight to the speakers to see if they were blown and they worked fine. Is there a fuse in line with the speaker wires? I would hat to buy another jensen unit and the same problem exist. Any help? Is the jensen unit bad?
The C12Q is a 35 watt,12 inch, Jensen replacement speaker.

Before doing anything with the speakers check their condition. Check the voice coil resistance and manually move the cone +/- a quarter inch and listen for any rubbing.
It should be a 4 ohm speaker as this is the standard impedence for car audio speakers. Jensen does not produce car audio speakers with any other impedences.

white/black is speaker positive white solid is speaker ground front and back ground gray/black is speaker ground front and back the solid black wire is battery ground
