Same thing happened to me twice.

Its the crappy ribbon cable that connects the faceplate to the head unit.

Its only about $12 (USD) from Pioneer directly.

It comes with instructions, its not that difficult.

Best of Luck.

I have a Yamaha ef1000is generator for less than a year. WhenI push in the choke after starting it shuts down

If you have not properly shut down the unit after use you will have likely had fuel remaining in the carburetor. The fuel will have evaporated while the unit was not in use leaving a film behind. This residue will plug and interfere with the fuel passages and metering orifices of the carburetor. If the unit runs with the choke on it is likely the carburetor is dirty. Be running the engine the carburetor will possibly clean itself. Make sure you remove any old fuel from the machine and replace with fresh. Allow the unit to run for an extended length of time attempting to return the choke to the run position. If you are able to return the choke to the run position you are on the way of solving this problem. You may need to run it additional time to completely purge the residue.

Additives are available to clean the carburetor and as a last resort if running with fresh fuel doesn't' return the motor to normal you may try it. For best results after mixing and running with the additives leave the unit overnight which may help to remove the remaining residue.

The shelf life of gas containing ethanol is about 30 days. In the future it is best to run the unit dry leaving ot fuel in the carburetor.

All else fails you will need to have the unit serviced by a small engine service center.

No power to kenmore 50 pint dehumidifier. Makes faint peep when plugged in but no power.

First, be sure that the water collection bucket is installed properly in the holder. Also, check the top of the bucket for a float valve when you remove it, to reinstall it.

The float valve is in the top of the bucket and may be stuck in the UP position. Therefore, the unit will not start. If you find this (not all units have them), jiggle the float valve arm to get it to return to the DOWN position.

When you reinstall the bucket, be sure that it fits "squarely" into the bucket holder from top to bottom. The bottom of the bucket should not tilt down at all.

NOTE: Before attempting any of the above, turn the unit OFF & Unplug it.

I hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Nothing comes on, light ,fan, Etc. Is there a reset or fuse to look at? Power to unit is good.

There is no fuse or reset button on your unit.

Faceplate will not open

Perhaps something is not installed correctly physically. Sometimes if something is a little twisted the way the unit is installed it will keep it from opening properly. Try moving the unit slightly and see if that helps.

Pioneer powers off when face plate opens.

My first guess would be that the ribbon cable between the flip face and the mother board has gone bad. This is a very, very common problem. I'd suspect that above everything else at this point.

Locked screen

WARNING: A reset will completely wipe the user information off the unit.

To reset the unit you will need to press the bottom right hand corner of your screen and hold in (relatively firmly) and then press and hold POWER, make sure you release the power button when the unit turns on and a message will appear asking if you wish to clear all user data - select YES to this.

This will completely wipe all data on your unit including almanac data (satellite information). Your unit would then need at least 45 minutes with clear view of the sky to update the almanac and re-acquire a GPS fix which will show your current position.
