I have just posted this to answer someone else but will do it for you in case it comes up elsewhere.You need to key in the time and date again on the handset, because even though it already says the time and date on the handset its because the battery has saved the data but the base needs it re installing to date and time the messages. I unplugged mine to move it and thats when it started flashing it took me ages to work out that CL was the clock. Hope this helps I'm sure it will.

The handset is not ‘registered’ with the based unit.
By default, the Master PIN is 0000.
Note: If no action is taken on the handset within 10 seconds, the registration procedure will be aborted. If this happens, repeat Step 1.
