How can I tell if my Kawaski Tv-Dvd combo set is in standby mode. model pvs31190ww
I have a hard time getting my tv to turn on. In the last couple of days it has been coming on and going off after a couple of minutes. It use to be hard to turn on but after it came on I had no trouble with it; the picture was perfect. But now it won't stay on. Thtough out all of this a red light has played a very big part in the working of the set. The red light is on when the set is off. It goes out when I'm trying to turn the set on but then it blinks once and then back to a steady the red.

My T.V. wouldn't turn on. The standby light was flashing six times, then four, then seven...I called Sony and they told me to unplug it for a couple of minutes, then try it again...didn't work....BUT, I have found a solution:
Try unpluging your T.V. for 4 hours+, then turn it back on. Worked for me! It's called a "hard reset" by sony. I had my T.V. unplugged for the whole day though.
If you can not turn on TV set with the power button on the TV its not a standby problem as this would by pass the standby. Theres most likly, on a set of this age, top have a poiwer regulator problem and is going to need a trained tech to assist you in this repair.
