Your bread machine is not balanced , I put a piece of cardboard or rolled up match book inside snugging bread pan to each side by handle to tighten bucket.

Oster bread machine making loud noises

Is the pan siting securly and clicked in? Is it like a knocking sound? If so the dough is too dry, so try adding a Tbs of water at a time and see if that helps.

2 years old B&D bread machine. Motor doesn't turn. Didn't wait long enough to see if the heater is working.

Hi keneddy,
Always wait a few minutes to see if your bread machine start to mix after a few minutes. If the oven chamber is cold it will gently warm up a few minutes before it starts to knead/mix. This can sometimes take anywhere from 4-5 minutes and longer. If it doesn't start kneading after about 20 minutes then you do have a problem. Whole wheat programs often warm up before any kneading begins. All you will hear is a faint clicking noise while the heat comes on.

I have a toastmaster Bread Box bread machine...I am making French bread...the banging noise was so loud I stopped it fearing the machine was broken...is it ? If not should I continue the kneading/baking...

Unless the sound is mechanical like metal on metal etc. what you may be hearing is the sound of the dough ball being knocked around and kneaded. Sometimes that gets pretty loud. While it is kneading go ahead and open the top and see if you think the dough ball is making the noise. If it seems to be coming from somwhere else then you may have a more serious problem. Is this a new noise or it this the first time you have used the machine?

I bought my Cuisinart Bread Maker in February 2007 and it worked well until now. Yesterday I started to make Dough cycle. First 2 minutes machine kneaded the dough correctly as usual but suddenly...

check the underside of the basket. I have had problems with the lock washer, causing the wing nut to slip and not providing any turn to the shaft and paddle.

Horribly loud grinding noises in bread machine

I made many loaves of bread over the past 2 years and then I heard a grinding noise with the last loaf I made, earlier today. When I cleaned it, I noticed that the dowel that holds the paddle was lose. When I pressed it down, during cleaning, it popped right out. There was what looked like a shredded white plastic washer. It would be nice if I could order this washer but I suspect this might be the end of that bread machine, since nobody here seems to be offering a solution. I don't even see where I could order the whole breadpan. Sunbeam only offers the whole bread machine. And Amazon offers the paddle.

Kneading Blade chattering

I had the same problems with another manufactures model. I found that the bread pan needs to slot in the machine only one way. The pan will fit in the machine with the handle both vertical and parallel to the front. However to stop the clacking noise I found that one way in the machine..it makes noise, the other way it doesn't. You'll have to try. If it makes noise, open the lid and turn the bread pan 45 degrees in either direction and secure it back in the breadmaker then close the lid. I hope this helps. If it does, remember how the pan is in the machine for next time to avoid the noise.

Loud noise and not kneading

No, not normal. Your belt is probably gone.
