Are the clothes evenly distributed inside the drum and the washer not overloaded? The drum is not self balancing, you must take care when loading it to even the weight distribution

Make sure that the bowl is level in all directions as a failed support insulator will cause unbalance in the spin cycle

Testimonial: "what is a support insulator and how do you find it."

  • Bill Boyd Mar 02, 2017

you didn't mention if top loader or front loader
with top loaders there are 4 rods attached to the bottom of the tub proper that is connected to the top frame by plastic insulators
on older machines , those plastic insulators split and allow the tub to drop a bit on one side
there will be a method in front loaders to hold the tub horizontal so you will have to talk with a service agent to see if there could be a problem there
the first response is valid in , overloading or not balancing the clothes properly after an unbalance occurs

GE GUD27ESSM1SS stackable washer dryer stuck in spin cycle

A top-load washer tub is usually supported by four suspension rods. If one of the suspension rods becomes dislodged or breaks, the control board may stop the spin cycle several times to try to balance the clothes. Suspension rods will often come in a set of four and it is recommended to replace all four of the rods at the same time to reduce uneven wear.

Final high speed spin very noisey

Something is causing the drum to be way out of balance. Does it bang and make noise when it's spinning empty? Probably not. Is something stuck on the side (inside of course) of the drum, causing it to shake when spinning? If not, a spring or shock absorber (connecting drum to sides, bottom or top of machine) has broken or come loose.

My ge wpsf4170 top load washer agitator spins but the drum itself stays stationary.

If the drum spins but the agitator doesn't agitate then its the dog(lil arm things) that grab the agitator ridges to work. If the drum doesn't spin at all its the belt under the drum. it's either broke the belt or has worn and slipped off or the drum was way off balance and kicked it off(belt) . way cheaper to fix either than buy new and most new ones have no agitator anymore so how does it clean better? In my opinion, they don't so I get the parts online at repair clinic and do it my self. Sorry Maytag Repair man. But I saved a lot

During spin, machine moves!

Hi,

Did you remove the transport rods from the back of the unit? this will cause the unit to jump around a lot when it goes into the spin cycle. Also make sure the feet are all level and the unit doesn't rock from side to side.

Need to balance washing machine drum

The drum should not need balancing, but the washer should be level in all directions. If the washer is level, but vibrates excessively during spin cycle, you may need to replace the springs. There is a set of suspension springs which act as shock absorbers. When these wear out the washer will bounce across the floor unless the clothes are 100% balanced in the washer.

Loud banging noise durning washing machine spin cycles.

First plug off the wall. Open the machine from behind to examine if any shock-absorbers(known as dampers) or springs have come off or broken. Your dealer could help with spares. But you could do the job yourself.

Washer drum off balance

there is an alignment track that the drum rides on it uses little wheels that ride on this track to keep the drum in the right place. either the bracket holding thos wheels to the back of the drum are loose or the wheels themselves are worn. these should be checked for servicabilty or replaced the problem is not the drum itself.. please rate.
