should be. It looks like someone updated that computer from Win 98 to XP - that's why the recovery disks are for Win 98. You should be ok to proceed if you didn't do any of the recovery. Are you able to use System Restore to force computer to revert to an earlier time when everything was working ok?

Your old Toshiba laptop most likely does not have a firefly port.
The only way to use your firefly device on the Toshibe is to purchase a firefly PCMCIA adapter card and plug it into the Toshiba's PCMCIA slot and install the card driver.

It won't run on Windows 98....very few machines are supported by windows 98 anymore.

Do you have a autoexec.bat on the root directory on you server that has a path to C:\windows in it?

If it is there then reinstall the operating system. It has crashed. It's an old error message that was used when DOS was needed to be installed before loading windows.

In your interenet explorer type
192.168.1.1
username-admin
password-admin
and make a new connection
and change the mode to PPPoE MODE
make a new connection in that browser only and restart the modem for changes to take effect.
modem has nothing to do with operating system
