Question about Kenmore 44102 Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Front load washer wont spin

Every thing work but no spin was told to change control board and did but same thing happens (fills agitates drains but no spin) need help thanks I have a Kenmore front load washer which I think is made by Frigidaire. It goes through the wash cycle correctly but does not do the high speed spin at the end. The was drains completely and it also does the back and forth motion at the very end of the cycle. It does this for ALL cycles (rinse and spin, normal, quick, etc.). The pump was very noisy so I replaced it hoping that would solve the problem but it didn't. I also replaced the motor control board (part 134743500) but that didn't help either. It has been mentioned that the door latch could be bad and can keep it from spinning. Is that true for front loading machines as well as top loaders????

Yes. the solinoid or wax motor (depending on which switch you have) has fail and is not telling control that the door is locked. replacing the switch will fix it

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Motor Coupling If the washer won't spin or agitate the motor coupling might have failed. The motor coupling connects the motor to the washer transmission. It is designed to fail if the washer is overloaded in order to protect both the motor and transmission.

Drive Belt If the washer won't spin or agitate, check the drive belt. If the belt is broken or if it isn't tight on the pulleys the washer won't spin or agitate properly.

Drive Motor If the washer won't spin or agitate the drive motor might be defective. This is not common. Check all of the other related parts to this symptom before replacing the motor. If the motor is visibly burned out or physically damaged, replace it.
Stator Assembly If the washer won't spin or agitate the stator assembly might be burned out. The stator is essentially one half of a motor, it interacts with the tub by creating a strong electro-magnet. If the stator burns out the washer won't spin or agitate. Check the stator for continuity. This part is often misdiagnosed.

Door or Lid Latch Assembly If the washer won't spin or agitate the lid switch assembly might be defective. This is a very common problem. The lid switch assembly can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any electrical switches with an Ohm meter for continuity. The switches should have continuity according to their design.

Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly If the washer won't spin or agitate the door lock assembly should be checked. The door lock can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any switches on the door lock with an Ohm meter. The switches should have continuity according to their design.

Motor Control Board If the washer won't spin or agitate the motor control board might be defective. The motor control board provides power to the motor as well as direction and force. If the motor control board is defective the washer may not work at all or function properly.

GE WWSE5200B1WW Top Load washer will not fill or agitate

Hi Scoti

I would start with water level pressure switch. It regulates how much water goes into washer and also stops overfilling..It may be defective and thinks washer is already full( hence no water and automatic drain spin) P#WH12X10093
Second thing to try is unplugging the washer for 15 min and letting all the voltage leave the control board. At this time you will reset the washer to default factory settings in case there was a computer glitch..

Good Luck

My GE WCSR4170D AWW top loading washing machine will not stop filling with water. i can get it to agitate when i blow into the air line hose attached to the water level switch. BUT it never stops filling...

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. You probably have a bad water level switch. As for the agitation, the drive motor controls the agitation, spinning, and draining. It is possible for the machine to not agitate, but yet spin and drain. The motor runs clockwise and counterclockwise. It may be bad and if so, will need changed.

My washer will fill up and drain but not agitate or spin

Looks like the motor needs to be replaced. After some years of use, the motor may not have enough strength to move the drum. If you test the motor by itself, it may work, but can't handle a load.

Remove agitator (it will pop off when pried) then you will find your answer. Mine was a broken tub collar to shaft.

Open the rear panel and look for a broken belt and does the motor spins. In case motor doesn't spin, check on its tags for 115/220V. Let me know with your results, for further assistance if will be needed. Good luck!

Washer will fill and agitate but won't drain and spin

Tweetly, no spin, no drain, usually a sign of a broken lid switch. Also check the switch actuator on the lid. Lid switch part number 3949238. Check that out first and post back. Catriver.
