It is customary to separate different parts of a phone number with a space but that is for human recognition only. Some phonebooks allow a space so it looks right to us even though it serves no purpose when dialling the number. A lot of phonebooks do not allow a space and force people to type the number as it will be seen by the phone software.

The space when typing names and the delete key vary between the make and type of phone. My phone uses the zero (0) key as a space bar. If a zero is required the key is kept depressed for a second longer. My phone has a dedicated "clear" key but lots of phones use the "back" key for delete.

My advice is to keep playing around and reach for the instruction manual if all else fails.

In my phone it goes like this
1 open contacts
2 all contacts
3 find the name of the person
4 click on the name--open
5 click on edit in the upper right hand corner
6 scroll down to the bottom
7 click on Delete Contact

Hello there and welcome to lfete at Fixya, the Support Team
you can find the manual here :
http://www.user-guides.co.uk/download/instruction/instructionbt/instruction-bt-freestyle-710.html

Normally you go to "contacts" and then find the number you want to delete and use the feature to delete. You can also select the number (inside contacts) and edit the info there :O)

How do I save telephone numbers to a uniden powermax 5.8 ghz cordless telephone

Phonebook (Storing Phone Numbers, Names, Distinctive
Rings and Speed Dial)
You can store names and numbers in your phone’s phonebook, search for names
alphabetically, and dial phonebook entries with just a few key presses. You can
store up to 100 numbers in the base and up to 100 additional numbers in each
registered handset.
The phone uses the same memory to store phonebook entries and Caller ID
messages. If the shared memory is already full, the phone will not store any more
phonebook entries. You will have to delete some of the Caller ID messages before
you can store a new phonebook entry.
1) When the phone is in standby mode, press phonebook.
2) Press the STORE soft key, S t o r e / E d i t N a m e appears.
3) Enter the name (up to 16 characters) by using the
number keypad (see the "Steps for Entering Names and
Special Characters" on page 44).
If a name is not required, go to step 4. <No Name> will
be used as the name.
4) Press the OK soft key to store the name;
S t o r e / E d i t N o . appears.
5) Use the number keypad, */tone/<, or #/> to enter the
phone number (up to 20 digits).
If you make an error, use the DELETE soft key to erase
the incorrect digits. When you are finished, press the
OK soft key to store the number.

6) If you store the phonebook entry from the handset,
D i s t i n c t i v e R i n g appears. Press volume up/down to
move the pointer to one of the Distinctive Ring options
and then press the OK soft key.
7) S p e e d D i a l appears. Press volume up/down to move the
pointer to select the Speed Dial location (10 locations:
SPD1-SPD0).
8) Press the OK soft key. You will hear a confirmation tone, and D o n e ! appears in the
display. EASY DOES IT! :)

Nokia 7310 Supernova. If someone calls cant see their name!

well, simple problem in your device.

You must have copied each number with two names or there may be double entery inside phone.
possibly problems
  • Double entry for single number
  • same contact in phone and sim
  • missing country code (ex. +91 xxx) in special cases
Solution:
  • take one other phone, and delete that number from your phone (sim n phone both memory) after deleting that contact details, misscall from working phone to your phone, and store that contact in ur phonebook
  • delete all contacts and add one time only. make sure no double copying
  • add country code before number
Tht's it, solution is as simple as 1 2 3

I have a brother 4100 fax. how do I change the information on the fax transmission page? thank you

If your date and time are not set yet, press Menu, then 1, then 2 and enter the date and time, pressing Set after each entry. Enter time in 24-hour format so it will display AM or PM properly.

For other info at the top of your fax transmission page after date and time, such as your fax and phone numbers, and company name:
Press Menu, then 1, then 3 for Station ID info.
First put in your fax number and press Set.
Next put in your phone number and press Set.
Next press the buttons for your company name and press Set.
Press Stop/Exit to return to the date and time display.

Here is info on inputting text, from the manual:
Entering Text
When you are setting certain functions, such as the Station ID, you may need to type text into the machine. Most keys on the dial pad have three or four letters rinted above them. The keys for 0, # and don’t have printed letters because they are used for special characters.
By pressing the appropriate number key repeatedly you can access the character you want.
Inserting Spaces
If you want to enter a blank space, press once between numbers and twice between characters.
Making Corrections
If you entered a letter incorrectly and want to change it, press to move the cursor after the last correct letter. Then press Clear; all letters above and to the right of the cursor will be deleted. Re-enter the correct characters. Also, you can back up and type over incorrect letters.
Repeating Letters
If you need to enter a character that is assigned to the same key as the previous character, press to move the cursor to the right.
Special Characters and Symbols
Key - once - twice - three times - four times - five times

Uniden power max 2.4 ghz

I had the same problem but figured it out. For some dumb reason, Caller ID numbers count against your total phonebook memory. So if you just delete all your Caller ID numbers (press the "Caller ID" button and then the "delete" button) then you'll be able to store new numbers in your phonebook.

If I could get my hands on the Uniden engineer that is responsible for this, I'd smack him! :)

Sony ericsson W700i

most of the SE phone have two types of contact saving

1- in phone memory
2- in SIM card memory

if u have contacts saved in SIM memory but u r using
phonebook memory then it is default

if u save any contact in phone memory u have an option too
to copy it to SIM memory

for deleting a contact it will behave like this:
for example, u have a contact saved in phone memory
as well as in SIM memory
if u delete this contact, then it will be deleted from phone
memory but not from SIM memory

and when u are called from same number
(which is not present in Phone memory but is in SIM)
it displays the name again
