Hello lumberjack623,
When the jensen starts acting this way, it is simply a power problem. The device is not receiving power from the main source. The battery is weak and need to be charged before the unit can turn on once again. The battery power is too low to turn the unit on.
Try to check the power source or the connection to the power source. It is not charging the players battery. You need to have the connection port replaced. Also the power connection needs be checked.
The battery is simply weak that is why it goes right off when it comes on.

My Jensen VM9424 keeps shutting off everytime it gets too hot outside. The radio turns off and it completly shuts off my whole car. Its not a battery problem bc my battery is new. Any suggestions or ideas?

Make sure the fan opening at the rear of the unit is not obstructed. It cannot cool itself is this opening id blocked.
