WHY THE POWER IS NOT SWITCHING OFF?

Hello Mike, seems you have a problem with your power-supply board....*or check if the tv switched back into standby mode..if tv switched back to stanby mode .....please check your A/V <Main proccessing Board...

Its either an issue with the main or power board.

You should be able to find a Universal remote that will cancel the standby function.

The red standby light is always on. It should only change when you press 'power'. When you turn it off, it is on 'standby', meaning you can switch the switch to make it start-up in play or record mode by using a timer and the switch below the power switch. This is normal for Sony.

There is probably a conflicting setting in your power management options. My recommendation is that you check the monitor setting in Windows and see how you have it set up. In Windows it is under CONTROL PANEL>POWER OPTIONS. There are a few differences between WINDOWS 7 and XP from here on out, but in general, do not select a scheme and do not select any hibernate, standby, or sleep modes. If you stick with a simple power saving option, like "TURN OFF MONITOR: After 15 mins." you should not have any further problems.

Many of the Windows "green schemes" will not work right with different combinations of BIOS, Hard drive, motherboard, and monitor. It is best to avoid them, unless you are very patient and willing to go the trial and error route. Good Luck!

To activate the demonstration

In Standby mode, press and hold DEMO

STOPçon the system until "DEMO ON" is

displayed.

?žœ The demonstration will begin.

To deactivate the demonstration

Press and hold DEMO STOP çon the system

until "DEMO OFF" is displayed.

?žœ The system will switch to Standby mode.

Note:

- Even if you remove the AC power cord and

reconnect it to the wall socket, the demonstration
will remain off until you activate it again.

Your computer is in STANDBY mode..
To bring it back....There will be a SLEEP/ STANDBY button on your keyboard...press it..
This should solve your problem...

There is problem with your SMPS(Switch Mode Power Supply) which is in your CPU case..Try Replacing it..

This fault can be caused by low secondary supply voltages often caused by the value of capacitors becoming low and requiring replacements but you will have to have a technician.

Try this: Press and hold the "tone" button for 5 seconds. This will reset the unit.

press the off/on buttun and keep it pressed in while pressing the standby button... it should fix it
